Marylyn's Beadworks

I am an award winning bead artist. I have won some ribbons, in the Memphis Powwow Art Show, Native American Crafts division. I use patterns and create some of my own designs too. My work is by custom order only. I did the beadwork on the regalia for the 1996 Memphis Powwow Princess. I specialize in the peyote/gourd stitch, but, also do a lot of brick/cheyenne stitch. I make amulet purse necklaces and earrings. Please stop by often. I will be adding new patterns.

MY BEADWORK IS FOR SALE
I expect to have prices up for my beadwork soon. If you see something you like, just e-mail me and I will get back to you, with prices. Order soon, if you want a gift in time for Christmas. All my beadwork is custom-made which means pieces are NOT made up ahead of time. I will try to match color preferences as close as possible. Amulet bags, in general, start at $50 and up. Native American regalia, such as fanhandles and gourd rattles start at $150 and up. Prices for lighter covers, keyrings, etc will be up soon.

BEAD CAVES - WORK SHOPS
I hold monthly "bead caves" at my home in Memphis, TN. These are from Friday through Sunday. It is a gathering of beaders who want to swap ideas, share bead stitches and techniques, chat, swap beads and just have fun. Beaders are coming from across the country and are at levels of skill from beginner to professional artist. Some attendees have been published. I can accomodate about 4 people at each gathering. If you would like to reserve a spot, please email me for details such as cost (minimal to cover food), sleeping arrangements, materials needed, etc. Our Caves are growing and I am already booked up through March. So I will be taking reservations now, for May 2000.
White Jay Beadery bead store is on the premises.
You can email me at Bead Caves.

Summer's Icy Cooler

Lynn and I have a customer for whom we are doing restoration work on antique Native American beadwork pieces. I did not remember to do a "before" pix on this one, but here is an "after" pix of the tote bag I did. The white centers to the flowers were meant to be irregular and this is not a flaw or damage of lost beads.

This pair of hoop earrings are made with g/l opal 11s, gold Delicas and faceted crystals.

Well, I have just put up a page where these are compared, so that you can see the bead sizes, differences in uniformity and how they differ when beaded into a piece of beadwork.
