Case Studies of Women's Self Build Housing

Preface
The Australian nation was founded on the invasion of a land occupied by indigenous peoples whose prior legal existence was denied by the doctrine of "terra nullus". The ongoing exploitation and repression of indigenous peoples here is evidenced by the Federal Government's half hearted attempts at 'reconciliation'.

In terms of this project the participants wish to pay respect to local indigenous peoples. Due to the confidential nature of the locations under consideration in this project it is not possible to identify and acknowledge the peoples on whose traditional lands these buildings stand.

The researcher however, wishes to acknowledge the Kwatkwat people on whose land she was born and the Wathaurong people as the traditional owners of the land on which she now lives.
