President’s Address

Hi friends,

As the wheels of time move and propel us towards a future of hope and enrichment, change becomes inevitable. As we head towards the 21st century, we must also change to adapt to the winds of time. Our new rejuvenated team of dedicated council members are here to accomplish just that.

The SFE is a an organ for providing an insight to members about the practical aspects of present technology & the possible applications & ramifications of future ones. In this issue, the editorial council have tried to incorporate even more information so as to quench your thirst for cutting edge science. Welcome to a whole new world where knowledge reigns supreme. —Rupesh Thakur

From the Editor’s Lair

Friends, ‘cd-rom’ans & countrymen,

The new email is out. Get ready to be swamped by an avalanche of information collected on our long travails over the vast information superhighway; for we are here to see to it that you get mired in it. As you know, the SFE is an electronics forum and thus we will be ‘biased’ towards focussing on ‘current’ affairs.

There is a new team behind the wheels. We have initiated a complete revamp of Email and divided it into various sections comprising the vast strata of science and technology; as we did not want information presented in a desultory fashion. The Surfs up section will focus on webstuff. Networking will be logging onto communication technoservers. Tech-Trek will act as an agony aunt giving you info on devices. Future Fantastica will involve flirtations with the future. Soft-a-ware will provide software reviews and latest product info. Hands on will lend you a helping hand in going under the hood e.g. installing stuff, configuring hardware and will act as an FAQ corner. Newsgroup will be consisting of latest tech headlines, Testing Times will provide you with information about various exams, procedures etc. Mania de Mathematica focuses on mathstuff whereas the Foraged Facts sections gives you the latest facts from general scientific fields. The newsletter’s size has also been increased to 12 sides.

We invite contributions from readers; as active reader participation is the key to an informative publication. Increasing the size has been a thorny path at such short notice but we feel a sense of accomplishment for maximizing the reader’s value for money. Your queries, suggestions & complaints are welcome. Meet us in D9 or send us mail . Help us to keep you better informed.
