The subway stations in Moscow are works of art. The subway system construction project was managed by Nikita Kruschev. If in the city, take the time to ride the subways, and enjoy the unique design of each station. Note how deep the tunnels are, and how steep the escalators. The system was designed as a refuge from nuclear attack. Be careful taking photographs in the station, however, as photography around airports and train stations is discouraged.
