Kenneth Ungar may have told Mulder that there's only one way to kill a golem but that doesn't stop him from trying to shoot it anyway.

Mulder:  I want to know about the myth of the Golem.

Kenneth Ungar:  This is a mystical text.  These pages are filled with Golems and vivics and demons of every size and shape.

Mulder:  It's the Golem that I'm interested in.

Kenneth Ungar:  And I'm interested in why an FBI agent would be so interested in such a thing.

If you have to ask you really don't want to know.  Especially when things considered fantastical are routine parts of the man's work.

General Punkesque Behavior

Mulder never listens!  Kenneth Ungar told him that the only way to kill a golem was to erase the first letter of the word written on him.  Did Mulder really think that mere bullets were going to do the trick?

Unprofessional Behavior

It's probably not a good idea to snicker when questioning people no matter how ridiculous the person is.
