The German hunt Terrier or Deutscher Jagd terrier was developed in Germany, probably by crossing the English Fox Terrier with the Lakeland Terrier. Careful selection achieved a terrier that would go to earth and retrieve small game from land or water. The German Hunt Terrier is a courageous hunter, which will take on fox and boar as well as small rodents.

Character and care

This hunter and Gundog possesses an aggressive temperament and is not a suitable pet. It should be kenneled outdoors, and can be groomed with a hound brush.
