Actually
. . these are ConcerT TickeTs
posted here -
The first time
I ever saw Pops was in the ballroom of the NCO Club
(Non-Commission Officer's Club) at Clark Air Base. Had to sneak-in
since no one could afford to pay for those dollar tickets back then.
I saw a lot of adults in attendance with their kids just to see Pops!
The second time was in Baguio City and we came in at the end of the
show just to see and greet her. By then I already perfected my patent
'out of my way' attitude that once got me a seat right behind Imelda
Marcos
and another time in the private reserved viewing box of the US Base
Commander.
It must
have been the doctor clothes I wore. ( Just
kidding.. )

Well,
look who came back to my hometown. And boy, it was a near riot.
School's gym was packed and no one bothered to stay seated in their
chairs.
I was able to get my hearing back a few hours later. This may have been
at the height of their popularity together. They did several more shows in
Angeles City years later. I even helped sell tickets for a couple of
them.
I gave up watching provincial shows. Now too wild and unpredictable.

I watched Pops famous concert -'Awesome'
I also watched Martin's equally good -'Escape'
And then I watched their combined show listed here.
And really enjoyed the concert a lot even though
it was a rehash of their solo shows. I thought
it was a pretty smart idea.. no, it was brilliant.
The best of their individual solo concerts put
into one.

Did I ever
mentioned before that I 'use
to' consider
myself -
without a doubt -
the number one fan
of Mr. Martin Fernandez?
Owned his first
albums and even the 'singles.' Watched his shows
so much It must have helped with the down-payment on his truck.
He was uncannily
so much like my singer and best friend who
was a US-Pinoy GI at Clark Air Base. Weirdest of all was he
had the exact situation with his wife. And both walked away from
things the moment they made up their minds. wow . . Twilight
Zone.
And yes, my old
pal's career also picked up ten-fold suddenly after too.
And thanks
to them, I learned first hand there is definitely
more important things in life than the money and fame.
And quite honestly,
I'm very grateful for that lesson.

I found my
justification for always being broke!
( LoL )
This
was undoubtedly Pops best concert ever. It was good
enough to make that 'awesome'
tag stick on her like glue.

" I'm
everything I 'am
