PORTRAITS, LIPSTICKS AND DREAMS COME TRUE

It's a great joy when dreams come true. Last week, some of my dreams were
realized, slowly but beautifully, with a lot of help from my friends.
It was quite a celebration we had last Wednesday at Stars in Makati as
people marvelled at the new magazine and lipstick line that I launched. It
was a shindig attended by friends from and outside the industry who shared
that special moment with me. Thanks to all who came, especially to Charlene
Gonzales, Regine Velasquez,
Liezl Martinez, Ariel Rivera, Gelli de Belen,
Carlos Agassi and my friends from the Whiplash. The people from Classified
Media, DSL Productions, ASAP and ABS-CBN were there to share my joy.
PORTRAITS
I have always dreamt of having a compilation of portraits by different
photographers. That is now a reality with Pops magazine, which friends
helped put out. Since last year we have been planning how the magazine
would look and who would take part in it. The idea was a scrapbook of me
and my friends in pictures that have never been published before. Now, more
than seven months after, we are able to appreciate how photographs capture
life. It is not only a magazine that chronicles beauty, but a magazine that
sums up the way I feel about my life now and how people see me. Journalists
Ricky Lo, Aster Amoyo and Boy Abunda provided a glimpse of how they see me
as a person, from the time that we first met to the present. Friends also
gave their own one-liners and it gives me pride to know that I'll kept
these relationships strong.
Friends who selflessly gave me their time for the tedious pictorial
sessions that were done to make the magazine truly a different one include
Regine Velasquez, Princess Punzalan, Liezl and Albert Martinez, Charlene
Gonzales, Richard Gomez, Troy Montero, Diether Ocampo, Rustom Padilla,
Franco Laurel, Carlos Agassi, and three of the most special people in my
life, my mom Dulce Lukban and my kids, Robin and Ram.
It is a magazine that is worth keeping, not only for the beautiful
photographs done by Raymond Lauchengco, Raymond Isaac, Jeffrey Quizon,
Ronnie Salvacion, Jun de Leon and Jim Paredes, but because of all the
emotions that is kept within those pages - the joy and triumph of knowing
how much you are valued and loved by your friends and family.
BEAUTY
Since I was a child, I have always admired actresses who have their own
beauty products - a perfume, lipstick, a brand of make-up and other beauty
products. A few months ago, I had this offer from HerBench to release my
own line of lipstick. And so last Wednesday was also the formal launch
party of the Pops Lipsticks. I have always believed that if one wants to
simplify her makeup, the most basic is the lipstick, because I myself will
only put on lipstick and I am ready to go.
Pops Lipsticks come in three colors: Moments,
the daytime lipstick,
Shindig, the nighttime lipstick and Awesome, the
gloss. There colors
reflect my personality, and I was so excited I personally picked them from
the many color choices.
