My Letter - The Light In The Forest

Dear True Son,

- I think that you made the right choice when you stopped the ambush that could have killed your two families. If you had not stopped it, your whole life would have been altered. It would have completely changed your living style. You might be living with the Indians instead and it would be worse for you in long term. I also have a few questions I would like to ask.

- How are you dealing with the issue on Uncle Wilse? I am not sure but I'm presuming that he's dead because you got to scalping him. How has you white family treated you since you scalped him? Have they condoned you since the incident involving the ambush? I think they should; because they know that you are on their side now. Another question I have is does Gordie still love you since after the ambush Uncle Wilse's misfortune? He should because if he's your friend, he should understand that you were mad at Uncle Wilse for killing Little Crane. That's what friends should be like. And for my other question, I would like to know if you think that Cuyloga was right when he said that you're enemies and that if you ever should meet in battle, you should kill him with no mercy. Do you feel he was doing the right thing? Do you ever wish he didn't reject you? I think he did the right thing, telling you never to come back. Now his tribe will still respect him.

- I myself have never faced a situation quite like your's. It must have been hard at first, but now you will enjoy life more, without long-term problems. I think you have an interesting life. It's unique because there are two sides of it.
