2006 WIP Finalists “The Centerfielder" - a novel excerpt by Ron Pellegrino. “Eid al Adha" - an essay by Karen Delaney. “Mother’s Day” - a short story by Karen Eisenbrey. “True HIstory of the World" - a short story by Art Mickel. “Letters Home - Dear Pauline and Edna" - a novel excerpt by Betty Eisenzimmer. “Ixarri" - a short story by Michael Davis. Thank you to all the entrants. Writers in Performance is an opportunity for writers to share their work with an audience. Your submission will be judged based on quality and "performability", so please submit an entry suitable for a five-minute public reading, which you will perform. Writers of longer works, please submit your "classiest" passage. Deadline for 2006 is for entry to be postmarked by April 16th, 2006. Performance will be held on Saturday, May 20, at the same location as last year, the Calvary Church on 68th and Roosevelt in Seattle. Cash awards for winners. Time 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Selected entries will be presented at the May program, which includes a dessert buffet. Three participants will receive cash awards as voted on by the audience. SWA will offer a rehearsal for selected entrants prior to the Performance evening. All entrants, selected or not, receive free admission to the event. General Guidelines
