A brief history David Cushman was born on December 31, 1965, in Cheriton, Folkestone, Kent (UK).
In 1966, his family moved to Bedford, Bedfordshire (UK) and shortly after to Sandy, Bedfordshire (UK). He attended the following schools: St Swithun's infants, Laburnum Road Junior School, Sandye Place Middle School, Sandy Upper School (all in Sandy). At 16 he went into the upper schools sixth form college and at 18 went to Essex University at Colchester, Essex (UK) to read Philosophy and Sociology. Graduating in 1987, he joined BB&H newspapers (then part of emap, now part of Johnson Press) in Bedford as a trainee reporter. During his time with the group he worked as a reporter and chief reporter at the Biggleswade Chronicle, news editor/sub-editor for the Bedfordshire Citizen, deputy editor for the Bedforshie Times and finally deputy editor for the Bedfordshire Times and Citizen newspapers. During this period he moved to Bedford. In 1995 he changed jobs to join emap's Motor Cycle News and since then he has worked as sub-editor, senior sub-editor, news editor and deputy chief sub-editor. Meeting his wife to be (Suzanne) in 1996, he moved Cambridgeshire. They married (in Sri Lanka, see link) in 1998 |
