The Usual Suspects

This game is heavily inspired by the eponymous masterpiece of Machiavellan intrigue, The Usual Suspects, that came out in 1995.

The object of the game is very simple: to ascertain which of the five suspects is telling the truth.

Five ex-cons are arrested for an alleged theft of a truck. It has been several years since they all completed their prison terms -- two were released for good behaviour -- and now they all have their different, modest careers, save two that still hustle and look for "hot jobs" that will get them more money.

However, fate brings them together, and they see themselves -- again -- eyeball to eyeball, staring through the window...of a police line-up.

In other words, their past comes to haunt them once again as they undergo vigorous cross-examination.

Agent Kujan, from the San Pedro Police Department, provides you with a transcript of their statements. Who is telling the truth? Several words that each of the five suspects have used, are what the 1992 World Almanac describes as "commonly confused words".

Can you immediately find out which wrong words, if any, the First Suspect has used, and why they are wrong? Good Luck!
