When keeping female's for the first time it's best to have a good fltered and size tank. For the first time it's good to start out with 1 female and a 2 gallon tank . Sinse female's bodies are small and delicet and will be a lot more agrssive than the males a lot some female have to be kept alone like my female Earth but the gentle female like my new female Ruby can live together in peace but there is always a good chance that a gentle betta to be aggressive when this happens take her out of the tank and let her calm down . When shopping for a female betta you will see on all the female's horizontal stripes indicating that they are very scared to darker and easier to see the more scared they are . Now when u look they might be in a tank with other fish's , When I got earth I think she was in a tank of neon tetra's I can't remember and Ruby with white tetra's i think . If you see a female that has her horizontal sripes and moving very active she is really scared and sometime the more scared a female is the less aggressive she but mostly rare when you see a female that is scared and moving scared to me that's an scared agrressive female and not the best choice of a female betta . But the more aggressive female'are in bowls next eachother in the petshop flaring and making their mad face they'll be very aggressive And here's a good tip don't just get the prettiest one cause she could be aggressive and that one you thought was very ugly could of been a gentle one . So I hope this helped you and a did'nt wanna write all that I know cause it will be long but if u have any quesion's email me at Aaron1fanbsb@aol.com . |
