March 26, 2002 was a difficult day for my whole family but one piece of news we recieved that day will be remembered
forever. Amanda's friend Cameron had been with her the evening of March 25th and they dyed her hair blue! Ever since she was
very young Amanda wanted her hair blue. So when her body was returned to our town her hair was blue. The man who owns the
funeral home asked my mom what she wanted him to do about it. She replied Leave it! My sisters and I have found that dying
our hair blue is a good way to remember Amanda.
In the picture to the right you see Amanda's sisters and some of her friends. It was taken on March 26, 2003 one year
after her death. My family made a tee shirt for one person out of each grade 7-12. The front had some kind of Don't Drink
and Drive slogan and the back had Amanda Lane "Homie" Harman, a picture of her and her birthday and heaven date. One
of the girls had a poem on her shirt that she had written in memory of Amanda.
