The Aphrodite was named for a mythological character of Earth's ancient Greek history. Aphrodite was believed by the Greeks to be the "goddess of love".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Prometheus-class ships share the same basic design as other large Starfleet vessels, with two main hull sections and warp nacelles that are supported by outriggers. The ships of this class have a stretched diamond-shaped saucer section and, like the Constellation-class ships are equipped with four warp nacelles. In an emergency, all ship's systems can be routed to the bridge, making it impossible to access them from any other location. The Prometheus-class is one of the fastest class of ships in the fleet, able to sustain a stable cruising speed of warp 9.9. The tactical systems on the Prometheus-class ships are particularly advanced. These ships are armed with standard phasers, photon torpedoes, quantum torpedoes, regenerative shielding and ablative armor.

The Prometheus-class, like any other, is equipped with a standard Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH) program. The vessels of this class, make much greater use of holographic systems than earlier vessels. The entire ship is fitted with holographic projectors, allowing the EMH to move outside of sickbay. Thus allowing him to treat injuries sustained in battle as quickly as possible. - There have been several considerations for an updated EMH program (i.e. EMH mark II - the experimental prototype installed on the U.S.S. Prometheus and Doctor Bashir was approached to be the visage of the new medical hologram, but that did not go through...), however the Aphrodite utilizes the original, standard EMH program (modeled after Dr. Lewis Zimmerman), as seen onboard the Voyager, Enterprise-E and most other Starfleet vessels.

Hostility Rule :
There will be no open display, during the sim, of hostility between crew members (Out Of Character). Should any two or more crew members make known, at any time during the sim, their feelings of hostility, hatred, etc. towards one another, then all persons involved shall be formally reprimanded. This reprimand will go on the member's Aphrodite sim record.
In addition, not only will the member(s) involved in the display of hostility be formally reprimanded, but they will also receive an "out". What this means is this : Whoever receives a reprimand for display of public hostility, will also be forced to sit out of the next week's sim.
Each member will be allowed a total of 4 reprimands\ 3 "outs" ... after his or her 3rd "out" and 4th (Final) reprimand, the member will then be removed, permanently, from the sim.
