Reds' catcher Larry McLean holds the record for being the TALLEST catcher ever at 6-5. He also is one
of only 4 catchers who were murdered (post career). McLean was shot dead on 3/24/1921 by a Boston bartender in a barroom brawl.
The YOUNGEST
Cincinnati catcher was Jack O'Connor (born 6/2/1869) who caught at the age
of 19 (1887). The OLDEST
Cincinnati catcher was Jimmie Wilson (born 7/23/1900) who last caught for
the Reds in 1940 at the age of 41.
