Jeff Dean-State Champion Speller! Jeff won the championship at UofA in Little Rock by spelling metachrosis. He is the son of Mark and Cindy Dean, and will represent Arkansas in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington,DC, May 24-29. Jeff is an 8th grader at Alma Middle School.
Megan Hawking, a 6th grader at Alma Middle School for taking first place in the U.S. Savings Bond Student Poster Contest for grades 4 through 6 in Arkansas. Megan,who is the daughter of Nancy Hawking, competed against 334 other entries and won a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond. Her drawing will be on display in Washington,DC, for the remainder of the academic year and will compete nationally in April.

football team for beating Hamburg 12-7 in the state championship in Little Rock! They played on the road throughout the play-offs!
