Episode #008

After DS Vic Singh assaulted a man in a Sun Hill pub, he didnt know that he would spark off a war that would end up in tragedy. The man was shouting racial abuse towards to DS Singh and he lost it, after facing racial abuse for a long time, he suddenly cracked. However, what he didnt know is that he had beaten up Jeff Simpson, a white supremist. What made matters worse was that DS Singh and DC Danny Glaze (who stopped DS Singh from killing this man) were assigned to a mysterious assault in a pub, and were called to St. Hughs to find out the victim was none other than Jeff Simpson. Since an Asian Police Officer attacked Simpson, this gave him the chance to seek revenge against the Asian Community and the Police. DC Glaze wanted to tell DCI Jack Meadows about everything, but DS Singh assured that it would all blow over. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Motorcyclists armed with petrol bombs were running amok in Sun Hill, bombing Asian areas and one nearly killing PC Tony Stamp. Supt. Tom Chandler was meant to be in a meeting with the Asian Community, but since he had lust on his mind with DC Kate Spears, he sent CI Derek Conway to the meeting instead, accompanied with DC Mickey Webb. Once the meeting was over, DC Webb and CI Conway said their goodbyes and CI Conway got into the police car. DC Webb spotted two people in black clothing on a motorbike going straight towards CI Conways car. DC Webb screamed for CI Conway to get out, and ran towards the car. But when CI Conway noticed this was an attack, it was too late. The people on the motorbike kicked the door shut and threw a bomb into the car. DC Webb, shouting and screaming ran towards a big explosion CI Conway was killed instantly.

With everyone at Sun Hill in great shock, PC Polly Page came back early from an injury, very distressed over CI Conways death. To make things worse, the car in which CI Conway was killed in was parked in the yard at Sun Hill for forensic tests. A grim reminder to DS Singh to what he had started.

After Simpson was brought in, and after a heated session in one of the interview rooms, DS Singh nearly smacked Simpson when DCI Meadows and DC Glaze ran in. DCI Meadows knew about it all and declared that he was suspended until a CIB enquiry had been undertook. However DS Singh said he resigned with immediate effect and walked out of Sun Hill.

But one thing was worrying all of Sun Hill officers. A massive White Supremist march was planned, and one of the main routes was straight through the Asian community of Sun Hill. With a massive stand off nearing, the officers were told, by Supt. Chandler, to keep a low profile. With the actual march over, and not much trouble at all, it was a celebratory drink in the CID office. With most of the officers down the pub, DC Paul Riley, PC Ben Hayward and PC Sam Harker were left to clear up. PC Di Worell, out of kindness said that she would help out.

With those in the CID office, and Inspector Andrew Monroe counting out the money for CI Conways memorial fund in his temporary office near the yard everything seemed calm. Too calm. This was indeed the calm before the storm...

THE ONLY TROUBLE THE RELIEF FACED WHILST THE MARCH WAS GOING ON WAS WHEN YOUTHS THREW PAINT OVER THE VAN AND CATAPOULTED STONES AT IT. HERE PC DI WORRELL RADIOS FOR ASSISTANCE.

THEN SUDDENLY all the lights went out in Sun Hill police station. Inspector Monroe sighed and left his office, locking it as he went. The emergency lights went on, but after a few seconds, the special Security Alarm went off. And no one at Sun Hill was prepared as to what was going to happen next.

The Riot Squad were radioed and they soon arrived and what faced them was a nightmare. Youths were everywhere throwing petrol bombs at the police station.

BUT HOW DID THE FIRE SPREAD? WHY A MASSIVE EXPLOSION?

Because of PC Taviner. Not knowingly, he had put in two £50 notes that were counterfeit. He had tried to get them back but had failed. Now, with Insp. Monroe trying to get the lights back on, the money was lying on his desk. With so many bombs going off what a good way to get rid of the fake money? A youth had climbed over the wall and dropped his supply of bombs. PC Taviner picked on up and threw it into Monroes office. He watched the money burn, but then a loud hissing noise alerted to him. He had set fire to some gas cylinders... he jumped back, shouted to PC Harker to get off the CID Balcony and was thrown to the ground in a massive explosion.
