Plot:
During a trap set for a bank robber, a fellow agent and friend of Scully's is shot by the criminal, whom Scully shoots in turn. While the agent is brought back from apparent death, he takes on the persona of the dead criminal whom he has chased for nearly a year. Scully sticks with him during his "trauma," but Mulder believes that he is not who he is.
My Rating: 6/10
An OK episode that uses some good old fashioned FBI detective work to track down Scully. The set-up is interesting, a former "love interest" of Scully's and a bank heist gone wrong with the X-File being transfer of personality between the hunter and the hunted. After that though the episode seems a little flat in my mind.
Notable Quotable:
Mulder: "Can you at least accept the idea that during Willis' near-death experience some sort of psychic trauma occurred?"
Scully: "Can't you accept that this isn't an X-File?"
Where Have I Seen That Face Before?
Christopher Allport has been in mainly B grade and TV movies such as "Man On A Swing", "To Live And Die In LA" and "Invaders From Mars" plus the mini series "The Chisholms". On TV he had a stint in "Dynasty" and also had roles in "China Beach" and "Jack Frost".
Cec Verrell has also appeared mainly in low budget movies such as "Runaway", "Sick", "Hollywood Vice Squad" and the straight-to-video "Inside Out". She didn't appear in any movies between this X-Files role and 2000 when she returned in "A Maiden's Prayer".
