Perfection at Restaurants. |
|
That's Lyle pulling in to another Restaurants tube, while Brandon ponders snaking his dad. |
Restaurants is the break you see right out in front of . . . you guessed it, the Restaurant. It is a super clean left that breaks on a very shallow reef. And unlike the reef at Cloudbreak, this one is sharp in all kinds of ways. Another interesting paradoxical fact is that Restaurants continues to get better and better as the tide drops. No matter how you weigh the risk vs. reward equation, you're still going to paddle out at low tide when you see how perfect this wave is. Most of the dings our group got on this trip were at Restaurants, and they happened when we surfed right up onto the reef at low tide. Jim even pulled one of his fins right out of his board. That's shallow!
Surfing Restaurants at Low Tide requires focus. |

I seem to have lost my focus and brough home several Tavarua Tatoos. |
