The Chief spreads his contageous laughter with us.

Chief Daruka is not only a gracious host, he also jams on the guitar.

The local Tavarua villagers are - and I swear this is no exaggeration - The Happiest Friendliest People On The Planet - Bar None! Wouldn't you be too, if you lived on a tropical surf paradise?!

Here's some good advise though: When you go to Tavarua, bring anything you can for their kids. I mean books, clothes, toys, anything. On Thursdsay night, at the Kava ceremony, you'll have your chance to offer your gifts to the Chief as a token of your genuine appreciation. And trust me on this, if you're not feeling grateful before you leave, you will by the time you surf this place on a good day. Bring everything you can fit, and then some.

Need more time and more photos.
