Top 10 Tips:

1)Keep motions sharp.

2)Smile throughout everything.

3)Use facials (like gaping mouth, pursed lips, etc.)

4)When waiting for the next cheer,dance,or for the judges to finish scoring, stand with your hands on your hips, smiling, & at attention (this will give the good impression that you listen & you are patient)

5)Use high energy throughout everything(don't look nervous!)

6)Look like you're having fun! (this will show that you have confidence & can deal under pressure)

7)Speak & cheer clearly & loudly!

8)When doing jumps, be sharp with your prep & stick the landing. Come up with your hands on your hips & with a smile!

9)If you mess up, keep going! Don't stop or have a look that says "I messed up!", keep a smile on your face. (that is another thing that shows the judges you have confidence)

10)When you run on & off, show spirit! (that shows you have spirit on & off the field/gym)

Extras:

1)Facials: If you have trouble naturally doing facials, practice in the mirror. If you still have trouble, a technique some people use is mouthing the vowels (a,e,i,o,u), but concentrate on the dance, not the vowels.

2)Video tape yourself doing the cheers & dance. Write down your mistakes & improve them!
