Okay, so you got to get fit for cheerleading, right? Before you rush to the gym, here are some tips for a safe and benficial workout. Stretching - One of the most important pre-workout activities. Before you do any exercising, make sure that you stretch and that muscles are loose, so that you don't pull anything. Also, stretch after workouts to keep muscles loose. (Always stretch before jumps too.) Drinking Water - Dehydration can be one of the worst things, especially when on the go. Make sure that you drink water before, after, and during your workout. Breaks - Taking breaks is very important. Resting when you get tired is not enough. Take breaks every ten minutes or so. Pushing yourself too hard can be very bad for you. Lifting Weights - Only lift what you know you can handle. You could injure yourself by adding that extra pound that your muscles can't handle. Lifting weights should be gradual. Add more weights only when you know your ready for it. Sweating - Although it's not very attractive, and it may make your make-up run, sweating is good for you. Think, heat is a training tool.
