    • L-Stand

    • *NOTE:practice stepping up into a single thighstand before attempting to raise leg

      L-Stand

base:step into a lunge with either leg, ready for the flyers foot. When the flyer steps onto the thigh, grab the ankle and wrap your arm around the shin. When the flyer is steady, she will lifther free leg. Grab the ankle and extend arm until flyer's leg is parallel to her hips in an L-shape.
flyer:step with outside foot on the "pocket" of the thigh. Stand up and lock knee out. When steady, lift free leg for base to grab. Make sure leg is parallel to hips.
spot:Place hands around waist and guide flyer up. Keep hands on waist at all times.

    • Double-Base Thigh Stand

    • base 1:steps back with left foot into right lunge, ready to grab the flyers leg. When flyersteps onto the thigh, base grabs the ankle and then the calf of the flyer's leg, securing the arm around the leg.
      base 2:(same as base one)
flyer:steps ontothe "pocket" of the bases' thigh one at a time. When secure flyer should hit the high V motion.
spot:holds the flyers waist and guides the flyer up into the thighstand. The spot does NOT let go of the waist at any time.

    • Shoulder Sit

    • ShoulderSit

Flyer:step onto pocket of base's thigh, stand up,and lock kneeout. When sturdy, swing free leg over base's shoulder.Slide other leg ontoshoulder.
Spot:place hands on flyer's waist and guide into shoulder sit.

      Double-Base Hitch

Base1:Repeat steps in double-basethigh stand. When secure, cup hands under flyer's foot. Lift up to chin, and spread handsso that you are holding the foot and toe.
Base 2:Repeat steps in double-base thigh stand.
      Spot:Repeat steps in double-base thighstand.

      INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

      Ground-Up Lib

**Remember, do not attempt this without an adult present and spotters!

1)First, we will go over the different positions of the stunters: You have a primary base, a secondary base, the flyer, and your back spot. Each person must work together to make a successful lib.

2)Primary base: This base should be the stronger of the two. Their job is fairly easy, because they do exactly what they would do in an extension. (Both bases will be squatting, with one knee higher than the other and in front of the other)

3)Secondary base: Because there is only one foot, the secondary base's job is to assist the primary base. The secondary base holds the primary base's wrists to keep them steady. They will follow the motion of the primary base and lift up on the wrists.

4)Flyer: Whoever is the flyer should have exceptional balance! To decide which foot should be stood upon(stunt leg), is the foot on the side of your PRIMARY base, so the majority of the weight will be even. To get the maximum amount of lift, the flyer should place her hands on the bases' heads as opposed to their shoulders. The leg on the ground(ground leg) is the only leg that will bend. The flyer will "ride" the stunt up, keeping their body tight, including their "ground" leg which is tight near their side. When the stunt reaches its maximum height, the flyer should pop the ground leg into the hook position and hit a high-V. (Cradle should be done normally)

5)Spot: The spot should also be squatting similarly to the bases. If the spot is right-handed, the right hand will be in the "seat" position(similar to the chair stunt)supporting the flyer's rear, while the left hand should be gripped around the "stunt" leg. As the stunt begins, the spot thrusts the hand upwards from under the rear as far as he/she can reach, while the left hand continues to lift the ankle. Once the right hand can reach no farther, the spot will place that hand above the left on the ankle.
