James Van Der Beek

James grew up in a small town in Connecticut. He started acting when he was 13, after an injury during football allowed him not to play. He landed the lead role in Grease, as Danny Zuko. After this rise in stardom, he started community theater. When he was 16 he went to New York to find an agent. At 17, he found a small role in an off-Broadway play. His first film role came in the teen film Angus. However, in most of his first movies he had small roles thus not giving him much publicity.

Then came Kevin Williamson and Dawson’s Creek. The directors enjoyed what they saw and cast him as the lead role, Dawson Leery, when he was 20. Quickly, he became a hot teen star. The rise to stardom through Dawson’s Creek gave him the publicity he needed and is now doing many movies.

Katie Holmes

Katie was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She began her career in acting when she was cast in her school’s production of “Damn Yankees.” Her first film role was in “The Ice Storm.” Later, she was also cast in movies such as “Disturbing Behavior” and “Teaching Mrs. Tingle.”

She was cast in 1998 as Joey Potter, in the hit teen series “Dawson’s Creek.” Currently she lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Then she was cast in Dawson’s Creek as Jen Lindley, the girl from New York who was kicked out and sent to live with her grandmother. When the show first started, Michelle was the youngest on the set and everyone tried to help her fit in. Her latest project was “Dick.”

Joshua Jackson

Josh was born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1978. His mother was a casting director, causing Josh to be inspired in acting. He began his career working for commericals. Later he landed a role in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Soon he was cast in the Mighty Ducks, a hockey movie about kids from the wrong side of the tracks. He starred in the whole trilogy giving him a huge rise in puclicity.

Soon he was cast in Dawson’s Creek as the fun-loving Pacey Witter. The directors knew he was perfect for the job, as being humorous and michevious fit right in with his character. Josh’s last two movies to date were “The Skulls” and “Gossip.”

Kevin Williamson, Creator

The creator of Dawson’s Creek took the story from his own life. Some of the characters were loosely based on himself or his friends. But this wasn’t all the hit screenwriter did. He also wrote the horror movies “Scream” and “Scream 2.” He has also written “The Faculty” and “Teaching Mrs.Tingle,” which Katie Holmes starred in.
