Inuyasha
The main character of the show,
Inuyasha is a half-demon, half-human hybrid born of a demon father and human mother. 50 years ago, he fell in love with a preistess
named Kikyo. One day, a jealous demon named Naraku framed the both of them, making it seem like they tried to kill one another
and turn their love into hatred. That day the couple had arranged to meet so Kikyo could give Inuyasha the sacred
jewl, so he could become all human to purify it.
(If the shikon no tama
was purified, then it would cease to exist
and Kikyo could live the
life of an ordinary woman.)But Naraku disguised himself as Inuyasha and attacked Kikyo, giving her a mortal if not
immediately deadly wound.
He then disguised himself as Kikyo
and fired arrows at Inuyasha. This made them believe that each had been betrayed by the other. Inuyasha then stole the shikon
jewel from Kikyo's village Kikyo then, with the last of her strength, fired an arrow at Inuyasha, binding him a neverending
sleep and nailing him to a tree. Now, 50 years later, Kagome comes into Inu Yasha's world by falling down a well while having
the Shikon Jewel and ends up in the feudal era of Japan.
The demon who had pulled her down
the well chases her to kill her and gain the jewel. While she was running, she went into the woods and got cornered next to
a tree. Inu Yasha was hanging from the tree by an arrow, unconscious. She somehow managed to wake him up and Inu Yasha saw
her. At first, Inu Yasha thought Kagome was Kikyo, but then said, "Kikyo was cuter.. much cuter."
She gets Inu Yasha free and he
was able to kill the demons and save Kagome. After the Shikon Jewel gets shattered, Inu Yasha finds out that she has the power
to sense the Shikon Jewel shards. She ends up teaming up with Inu Yasha, helping him find the jewel shards so that Inu Yasha
can fulfill his dream and become a full demon. Later on in the show, more people end up joining them to find the Shikon Jewel
shards and get revenge on the evil Naruku.
