Chaos Theory's Artwork

(Now Playing: "Angel Island Theme, Act 1" from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Because I AM an "Island Girl" at heart, after all...)

Here you can see a sampling of my artwork. I have several different kinds or categories to look at...If you want to see my Sonic-universe-related stuff, keep scrolling down this page.

NOTE: Tripod has just suddenly, and without warning, cut back my amount of space from 50, to _20_ megs. :( And the stupid file manager is still _saying_ that I have like over twenty megs LEFT...get with the program, people! How was _I_ to know?! :( Anyway, I regret to inform you that the Other Game Artwork and Miscellaneous Artwork (yes, including (sniff!) the Discworld stuff...) have been entirely deleted. And I STILL haven't gotten it under 20 megs! This makes me very, very upset. I wanted my own scanner so that I could show my artwork off to the world for YEARS, I finally get one, I scan to my heart's content, I have a nice website with plenty of room...and then they do THIS to me!
I really don't want to move Sandopolis _again_ after moving so soon the last time...it was SUCH A PAIN!! but...this site will probably stay frozen and unchanging until I can have more room, somehow. :( And I will be looking for _another_ server to host my artwork at, which I will then link to from here--so watch this space for the future!

If you feel the need to compliment my artwork (yeah, right) e-mail me and I will be happy to answer you. Insults will be met with maniacal laughter and thrown into the garbage. Remember, everything here and on the other two pages is my own personal property and cannot be used or reproduced elsewhere--on the net or off--without my express permission and you must also give me credit. You may also not change or alter it in any way, other than re-sizing to make it fit better on the page of course. (Like anybody would WANT to use my stuff, but you can never be too careful...)
Now, ON to the Sonic pictures!

"The Conjectured Sega 'Extended Family'"
An "old-school" pic from the beginnings of my fandom--and it shows. Introduces Electra the Hedgehog and Jolt the Squirrel, who were originally written as "game" characters and not necessarily for fanfic. They were also originally intended to be a "main-character-and-sidekick" team like Sonic and Tails, as seen from their cutsie mirror-reverse outfits. Notice that Electra at this point has no "curves" and is just as naked as Sonic--her wristbands, leg-warmers and dance shoes being a feminine version of his gloves/socks/sneakers ensemble. The sibling-love pose, the use of all three of the main characters alongside my new ones, and Electra's motioning "4" with her hand all illustrate my naive pie-in-the-sky dream to have my characters truly become part of the family in a sequel that never quite happened ...

Knuckles
A very quick pencil sketch of Knuckles, also from '96, done in Sega-style. While I sweated for hours over the above, this one took me five minutes tops and actually turned out pretty good--go figure!

"Electra's New Look"
Drawn in April '99 shortly after I revived the flames of  my Sonic fandom by visiting Sonic sites on the internet for the first time, this is Electra's new--and permanent--look. A bit less "SegaSonic" and a lot more SatAM/comic book/anime-influence, the new Electra is not a flat-chested naked kid, but an athletic, mature young woman. She retains her original wristbands, leg-warmers and dance shoes, but now she's been "'90s-ised" a bit by adding a jogger's halter-top and biker shorts. Re-written for a more complex fanfiction setting, the lightning bolts symbolise the special powers she's had since her "game-character" days in '96. She made her fanfic debut in TWO simultaneously-written stories; the round-robin fanfic, "Times of Chaos", and my own fanfic, "Shadows of the Future."

"Jolt's New Look"
Also drawn in April '99, the new Jolt is no longer Electra's sidekick, and has ...erm..."gained" a new snooty Valley-Girl personality--shown in her new clothes and hairdo. She retains her original purple-striped fur and "game-abilities", but her personality, relationships to other characters, and name have been changed. No longer just "Jolt"; she now has a REAL name--Jolene Miranda Gonzalez--but refuses to answer to it. She made her fanfic debut in my own story, "Shadows of the Future".

Chaos Theory T. Echidna
And now for your hostess! Heeeeeeeeressss...CHAOS!
Drawn in May of '99, this is my main on-line Sonic-universe persona--a young echidna woman of my own age, build, colouring, hair-length, and even glasses!--who differs from me in that she THINKS she is a great scientist but is actually a bumbling quack. (The book she's holding is hard to read on a screen, but it says "Physics 4 Dummies" just so you know...)

Captain Chaotica!!
ALWAYS written with exclamation points after it, this character's name SOUNDS as if it were inspired by the Chaos Emeralds, but was actually taken from "Star Trek: Voyager"--Paris's cheesy sci-fi serial holodeck program contained a hero named "Captain Proton!" and a villian named "Chaotica", and I think you can see where I'm going from there! In case you're wondering about her species, she's a hornet--a "Yellow Jacket", to be precise--the biggest and meanest kind.

Queen Riku-Dari
This picture was drawn in April 1999, and done completely in my OWN style--not even vaguely TRYING to look "Sega" or even cartoony--she's more realistic. Notice that, like a REAL echidna would have, she's got spines all the way down her back instead of only on her head, and--here's a radical concept--she's a "Furry" who is actually FURRY! She is a character in my fanfic, "Shadows of the Future"--and more than that I cannot say for fear of spoilers...

Sgt. Lorinda Steele
This ADORABLE young echidna-woman is also a character in my fanfic--and again, I can't go any further than that! She is drawn in what has become my permanent "Mobian-style"--cartoony faces, but more realistically-proportioned than the way Sega, the cartoons, and the comic books do them.

Myron
This rather tough and mean-looking male echidna is NOT my own character; he was created by others for the story "Times of Chaos". He's a rough, jaded, experienced hunter/tracker. Hence his rather "Indiana Jones"-ish apparel and his crafty, sneaky expression. Technically he's NOT supposed to have "dreadlocks", but I TRIED drawing him without them and he looked weird, so I just gave him some realatively short ones. Is the pyramid he's standing in front of meant to represent Sandopolis? Read the story and find out...BWAHAHA...

Thorn
Another character from "Times of Chaos", this is one I made up myself. Well, sorta. She's the EVIL version of Amy Rose (Thorn--get it?) from an alternate universe I ALSO made up, called "Dark Mobius". Her outfit, quote and background color are all meant to be a darker parody version of Amy's bio page from "Sonic Adventure."

"Sonia's New Look"
"Sonic Underground" itself is rather...odd..but from the moment I first saw a screenshot of it on the 'net, I though Sonia was SO CUTE! So I attempted to draw her. But since I was doing it from a vague memory, what I got was a..."Sonia-esque" picture that, while it IS kinda in "Sonic Underground's" STYLE, (it's certainly not like the way I USUALLY draw!) doesn't look like HER except maybe a little. What it looks like is Sonia with an older, more mature, realistic body. At any rate, at least I'm one of the first non-Europeans to make fanart off that cartoon!

Amy Rose at Station Square
Here is my first attempt at a full-fledged Sonic Adventure picture! I am rather proud of this one, because I rarely draw actual backgrounds behind my characters (as opposed to colourful or shaded scribbles) and this one actually turned out quite well. Notice the people in the background and everything! Yes, her boots and hammer are both wrong, and I forgot her dress's collar, AND the car behind her is deformed, but I don't care, I like this picture anyway. I think it's definitely one of my best, and probably the most complex cartoon picture I've ever made!

Mobian Cats Unite!
This one is kinda cheesy, and the proportions are all wrong, but I felt the need to put the two cat characters from the two very different versions of the Sonic universe--Hershey from the comic books, and Big from Sonic Adventure--together. It didn't quite work, as you can see, 'cos Hershey is WAY TOO TALL! But it was a decent idea anyway...

Girls Just Wanna Kick Butt
Speaking of comic book characters, here we have my first attempt to draw Julie-Su Echidna. Yes, even though I am still against the way the Knuckles comic books did certain things, I HAVE come to like Julie-Girl. Here we see her with Charmy--the one who came in, and the one who left, together. Awww...Yes, yes, I KNOW I reversed her body armour and got her cyborg implants wrong (I'm NOT good with drawing mechanical stuff, never have been, never will be) but in general, I like this picture. Doesn't she just look like she could rip you APART with her bare hands? Heh heh heh...

Charmy Takes the Throne
Here we see a very touching portrait of Charmy--MY VERSION, with normal yet skinny body proportions and hair underneath that helmet--as he realises that this is it, his time of freedom and fun is over, he HAS to be a Prince now, and possibly King. This picture has a lot of symbolism. The fact that he's putting his old helmet and goggles down on the floor while WEARING his crown...the smaller image of his "normal look" fading away, as if to show that his old LIFE is fading away...and in the background, his old life--the Chaotix and the Island--are waving good-bye to him in spirit. This is NOT from the actual Chaotix Caper, you understand--it's from MY version, and frankly think I think this is more emotionally effective.

The Chaotix
Here they come, rougher than the rest of 'em! I figured we could use a good, classic, old-school picture of the boys so here ya go! It's not that great--I drew Mighty on a stair-step machine because he was too high in the air and I didn't feel like re-drawing him lower--and Vector and Espio both look deformed, I'm sure, 'cos I NEVER drew them before in my life--but I do like some things about this picture. Notice how Espio is starting to turn invisible on one side--his colours are fading and going transparent. And also notice that each letter of the word "Chaotix" represents a colour of a Chaos Emerald.

Perfect Chaotix
If the title of this one confuses you, it's because it's the cover picture to the FIFTH of the Chaotix Chronicles, which will be called "Perfect Chaotix", as it involves those characters, and, yes, you guessed it--PERFECT CHAOS from Sonic Adventure! Sally and Knuckles are shown together here, getting ready to kick some boo-tay in the Marble Zone-but I can't tell you why...

"Lazy Days--Livin' in Paradise"
Despite the name, this picture has nothing at all to do with Big the Cat. But the four characters here ARE bein' lazy and "livin' in paradise", so... Notice that Amy is wearing a SWIMSUIT instead of a dress. And you probably can't see it, but her magazine says "Playgirl" and has a picture of SONIC on the cover (!) She also has a bottle of 35 sunblock. Sonic is drinking lemonade with a fancy umbrella-festooned straw. And everybody is just hangin' around--including Tails, who's hangin' TEN! (hee hee.) At any rate, a fun little picture.

Queen Armadillo!
No, I'm not saying the armadillos of Mobius are ruled by a queen (although they COULD be I guess...) This piece of TOTAL silliness is a Star Wars/Sonic comic crossover parody--Queen Amidala--as an armadillo! I got the idea when the totally Star-Wars-OBSESSED kids I was babysitting kept calling her "Queen Armadillo". Well, as a Sonic artist I just HAD to take up that challenge, and here's the result. Notice the tiny dots of blush, the tiny vertical stripe of lipstick, the fancy feather headdress, the fancy bejewelled robes, and the fact that she's ALSO carrying a gun. Looks just like her, doesn't she? ;)

Lara-Su
Although the "Knuckles: 20 Years Later" special is a LONG way off, I just felt like making up what Knuckles and Julie-Su's kid might look like. Here we see the NEXT Guardian of the Floating Island, ready to kick some bad-guy butt.

Princess "Fleetaway"
Another offspring character, here is MY version of what Sonic and Sally's kid might look like. The Archie comic version just wimped out; the two kids in the "flash-forwards" just looked EXACTLY like one parent or the other; there was NO attempt to BLEND the species at all. But notice that "Fleetaway" (Fleetfoot Alexis Takeshi Acorn) may be mostly hedgehog, but has her mother's facial-features, eyes, and her grandfather's fluffy squirrel-tail. At least I TRIED, unlike SOME people I could mention...

When Sonic Universes Collide!
This silly little cartoon shows Tikal from Sonic Adventure and Julie-Su from the Knuckles comic series, two very confused lady echidnas--crossing time and space to meet each other, somehow. Tikal is standing in front of the (burning) Mystic Ruin and Julie-Su has the Echidnaopolis skyline as a backdrop. Don't ask me why Julie looks so ANGRY in this picture. Maybe she's pissed that Sega didn't bother to support her comic series any better...

Saffron Bee
Also from the comics, here's Charmy's lovely little lady-friend, Saffron. This picture was mostly copied from Knuckles #14, but everything from the chest down was drawn by me (and that includes her arms, and all the background.) Notice the huge flowers and super-high blades of grass to give the impression that she's tiny.

Princess Debbie
Speaking of cute little female bees, here's Charmy's SISTER, Deborah, from my own fanfics (the "Chaotix Chronicles"). Isn't she just adorable? Hee hee. I had a lot of fun drawing this one.

GIRL POWER!
This picture celebrates pretty much all the main lady lovelies of the Sonic universe (except for Mina, but I drew this before I knew what she looked like). From left to right: Julie-Su Echidna, E-102 Gamma's real form, Lupe--draw faded and blurred to symbolise...well....anyway, then Amy Rose, Lara-Su Echidna, Princess Sally Acorn, Sonia from "Sonic Underground", Bunnie, Tikal, (a random Chao), Tiara, and the person lying down in front is, of course, Hershey the Cat. Move over boys, it's OUR turn NOW!

Knuckles and Chainspike, Sittin' in a Tree....
This picture was mainly drawn as a joke, because "Chainspike" (Lien Nguyen) keeps going on and on about how "hot" she thinks Knuckles is. So I drew this picture of an ACTUAL Chainspike, as in, the badniks from the Death Egg Zone in Sonic and Knuckles--drooling over our favourite echidna. The really ironic thing is I made HER be the one who scanned it for me! Heh heh...

Chaos Comes to the Echidnas.
A rather dark and strange picture that I drew during WORK of all places, and in crayon, this is meant to represent the flashback scenes in "Sonic Adventure" where the Echidnas' temple/city is on fire. Tikal appears to be calling on the power of the Master Emerald in a desperate attempt to do something about it. Even though she was drawn a little odd, and I didn't quite really know the plot of the game at the time I drew this, I think it's very effective in terms of getting the MOOD right. And the crayons' very scribbly-ness sort of adds to the feeling of looseness, randomness, and, well, you know, CHAOS, that I was going for.

Amy Gets Roboticised?!
While I'm sure there are those of you out there whose hearts leapt with hope upon reading those words, the answer is, sorry to disappoint you, no. This picture was inspired by "Sonic R" in an odd way--once you unlock the hidden characters (which I can't do), it turns out that all the racers and I mean ALL the racers have a metallic/robotic version of themselves.
Except Amy. She's the ONLY one.
So I drew this in an attempt to figure out what an evil metallic killer cyborg version of our Her Pinkness would look like. And guess what? No matter how many weapons and claws, mean expressions, etc. I gave her, SHE'S STILL CUTE! AAAA! Oh, well. Some people just weren't meant to look sinister.

Amy Vs. Metal Sonic: 1993-1999.
I know it seems like I'm focusing a lot on Amy Rose during these pictures, but it's just because I had these joke ideas that involved her. Anyway, this one was inspired by Sonic Adventure, again. Whenever I'm playing Amy in the Final Egg entrance area, I always have this HUGE urge to bash the hell out of the Metal Sonic that's floating under glass. Of course, your hammer won't break the glass (darn) but it's still fun to try. That's what inspired this picture. In the left-hand side--1993--the helpless, wussy little-girl Amy is screaming and crying as Metal Sonic kidnaps her (with the Little Planet in the background). On the right-hand side--1999--however, an older, tougher, and more confident Amy meets her nemesis again...and THIS time, HE'S helpless and SHE'S the one in charge! BWAHAHA! Revenge is a dish best served...sweet. Oh, so sweet... ;)

Sharon Bee.
Here's the heroine of that weird Choose Your Own Adventure type thingie we have goin' on at this site, "Absolute Chaotix!" (You, the reader, can add onto it as well, if you like, check the Sandopolis Interactive section to find the story.) Sharon was an ordinary young secretary on Earth until one day she got thrown into this strange, colourful new universe and...got turned into a humanoid cartoon BEE-girl? To find out more about her, read the story.

Christmas on Mobius!
Ah, a nice seasonal picture. Snow falling, decorated pine trees, presents, pink cartoon hedgehogs...pink hedgehogs?! This was originally one of the wallpaper pictures that came with Sonic Adventure, but I HEAVILY modified it, completely changing the background (it was originally solid pink) and making Amy's outfit into something that was at one and the same time a lot more elegant, and also a lot more appropriate for running around in the SNOW! I'm not sure whether to count this as my artwork or not, but _most_ of it is, at this point...

At this point, I'd like to thank NetRaptor typing most of the text for the first eleven pics (not counting a bit of editing and re-wording on my part) and also scanning and uploading all my pictures! THANKS, Netraptor!

1548 reckless patrons of the arts have attempted to look at my pictures and survive since May 21, 1999. Of course, Thorn stabbed them all to death, but hey...
