Lair of the Unidragon, Page Twenty-Three

After walking down the straight path for a while, you see something in the distance. You shade your eyes against the glare of the setting sun and squint to make out the object more clearly. It seems to be a fortress of some sort.
You heave a great sigh of relief. Civilisation at last! Maybe someone there will know where the Unidragon's lair is. You continue on.

A few hours later, the sky has gone purple-blue and the smaller moon has risen. You approach the castle gates.
"Ho, there!" you call out to the guards. "I am a traveller, on a mission for--"
"HALT!" booms one of the guards, a man so muscular he looks hideously deformed. "None may pass!"
You call out imperiously, "I was sent by Princess Zenith and--"
"We don't CARE who sent yas!" bellows the guard. "Name the password or step aside!"
"I don't need passwords," you declare, drawing yourself up to your full meagre height. You hope that if you act haughty and confident enough, they'll be scared NOT to let you in.
No such luck. "GET HIM!" roars the guard, and he and his equally oversized companion lunge at you with spears. You chop off both their heads with the greatesr of ease, then quickly scale the gate and pick the lock on the door. It's unlikely anyone here could help me, you think as you push the heavy wooden door slowly open, but now I'm curious. I want to see what they're hiding!
Instead of a grand entrance-hall like most castles would have, this one starts off with a very narrow corridor, barely wide enough for two ordinary Humans--or ONE of those guards--to walk abreast. The walls are made of thick, solid grey stone and the only thing that alleviates the claustrophobia is the high, vaulted ceiling.
"There he is!" shouts a voice behind you. "That's the one that killed Bruno!" Loud clanking of metal and muttered curses sound down the corridor. You peer nervously over your shoulder. About twelve guards--at least--are rushing straight towards you.
You race further into the castle--then pull yourself up to an abrupt stop as ANOTHER group of guards stomps in from the other direction. They're armed to the teeth, and they're completely filling the corridor both in front of and behind you. Even if you killed all the guards on one side, the others would impale you while you were busy.
It doesn't look good.
