The road straight ahead leads out into farmland at the outskirts of town and, a few miles along, a farming village. Today all the rednecks are excited because, according to huge crude hand-lettered (and atrociously-spelled) signs everywhere, the Wornovir Circus Troupe is coming to town.
Whoopee, you think sarcastically. Boy am I excited. Your attempts to get information out of the townspeople are thwarted by all the noise and confusion, so you decide to stick around and watch the circus. Maybe AFTERWARDS you can talk to someone.
The performers aren't much, except for one acrobat--a tall, redhaired Human female with a dark tan and lots of muscles. She's very good--too good for this group. And she looks oddly familiar...you squint against the noonday sun. Of course!
It's your old buddy, Krexx, who saved you from the pirates that time five years ago! You smile at the memory of the captain's blood seeping into the wooden planks of the deck as you ransacked his ship. Krexx is another adventurer; she's been around. Maybe she'd know something useful.
Then again, you've already wasted several hours here. Sure, the Unidragon SAID it wouldn't eat Princess Zenith until you were there to watch it, personally, but you did NOT get where you are today by trusting the word of emminently untrustworthy monsters. How can you be sure the Unidragon will keep his word? Maybe you should just be on your way now instead of waiting for Krexx to finish her show, and hope for the best.
