The proceedings of the workshop on Women and Globalization, as part of the People's Conference against Imperialist Globalization (Nov 21-23, 1996). 56 women delegates and observers resolved, among other things, to work for the dissolution of the US-led IMF-WB and the GATT-WTO because it dictated governments to implement the economic policies of liberalization, privatization and deregulation, spawning greater misery for the toiling women. The Women's International Solidarity Affair in the Philippines (WISAP) is a gathering of women from different countries organized by GABRIELA with the aim of building and strengthening bridges of solidarity and sisterhood among women working for change. Through workshops, conferences, and cultural sharing, WISAP aims to facilitate linkages and promote solidarity actions on global issues that affect women. The sixth WISAP, held in Antipolo, Rizal on 27 October 1994, produced this proceedings. | |
