The year 2025 continued GPK licenses from existing contracts, in the absence of retired Ira Friedman (VP of Licensing & Publishing), and brand-new contracts currently on hold; it is still rumoured that Fanatics wanted to limit and reduce the amount of GPK licenses for the time being. Retail/hobby card releases have also slowed down; but online material have held onto their scheduled releases. Alphabetically, the pre-existing license agreements with Topps for the Garbage Pail Kids brand and continued product included, Abrams Books, Atomic Toybox, Cloudco Entertainment (Madballs), Dynamite Entertainment, Get A Grip Skateboards, Epic Ink Books, Greenlight Collectibles, Homage LLC, Hybris Production AB, Leo Challenge Coins (aka GPK Nation; not covered), Monogram International, Inc., Polyphony, PSA, Super7 and Swag Golf. NOTE: Atomic Toybox is also listed within the 'Cons & Fests' pages. A new partnership with Thrilljoy Collectibles, but so far this calendar year, no other new licenses, announcements, and merchandise introduced.

Per Non-Sport Update publication (Vol.36 • No.2 • April/May 2025), a Fanatics® Topps article, titled 'The Elephant in the Room', stated, "Along with Topps baseball cards, Fanatics also acquired the rights to produce Star Wars cards, and the ownership of Wacky Packages, Garbage Pail Kids and Mars Attacks. This is a new area of business for Fanatics, and they've been tight-lipped about their plans, but there are licensing deals in place that assure their big three original creations will still be around for a while, although the Martians haven't done much attacking lately."

NOTE: As with the year 2024, Abrams Books continued their GPK license with calendar releases for the 2025 calendar year, except for paperback reprints of the R.L. Stine GPK youth novels. Calendar information can be located within the previous GPK license pages. Abrams had previously announced next-year calendars will in advance, usually by April of any given year, but as of June 2025, no announcements for a 2026 GPK calendar.

Four and a half years after the hardcover version, Abrams Books is releasing a softcover edition of their R.L. Stine Garbage Pail Kids (Book #1) Welcome to Smellville story, through their Amulet Books imprint, that publishes novels, graphic novels and nonfiction for young adults. The Book #1 release was listed to the Abrams website and to retail websites, as a preorder, in mid-December 2024. The Book #2 release was listed to the Abrams webite and to retail websites, as a preorder, in mid-February 2025 (the week of February 10, 2025). One would assume that Book #3 will follow suit.

At midday on Sunday, February 02, 2025, Atomic Toybox posted a GPK shirt ad to their social media channels that included wrapper artwork and stated 'Back in Stock'. The original GPK wrapper t-shirts were released by the Creepy Co. in 2018 and when their license expired they sold all of their overstock to Atomic Toybox, who assisted them with their enamel pins and had their product on display for the SDCC shows. The overstock technically did not contain any GPK wrapper t-shirts, but the items can be seen at the bottom of the Creepy Co. page where the Creepy Co. label and sleeve tag can be seen. Additionaly, the OS2 blue shirt should have a red log, 'STICKERS', and suit if actually for OS2, but only the OS1 imagery is used. A sweatshirt variation was also available.

It’s disgustingly cute and you can’t resist it. This Ford F-100 is a 1:64 scale diecast is in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Garbage Pail Kids. It is limited to 1128 pieces total, split between an original yellow version (1032 pieces) and a chase variant green chrome version (96 pieces). The packaging features a peelable Adam Bomb GPK sticker", along with a previously released vehicle, "Garbage Pail Kids Series 6 Poppy Fiction 1977 Checker Taxicab Solid Pack – $10. Iconic 1977 Checker Cab from the fleet of the Big Hairy Cab Co." NOTE: The 'BOMB' nomenclature, on the nameplate, should be in smaller font size than the forename 'Adam'; the Sunday promo card reads correct 'ADAM Bomb'. Per artist David Gross, per Facebook on July 09, 2025, "Garbage Pail Kids 40th Anniversary Adam Bomb painting I did which is being used for an exclusive card and diecast car by Greenlight [Collectibles] at the San Diego Comic Con."





Also on July 09, 2025, the SDCC Unofficial Blog posted the two additional images to their write-up and Greenlight Collectibles took to their social media channels to reveal the GPK 40th Anniv. vehicle and its variant, stating, "SDCC EXCLUSIVE CHASE REVEAL! GreenLight Collectibles is getting gross in the BEST way possible at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 — with a Garbage Pail Kids–inspired New Chase Version of our Ford F-100! This is your chance to own a filthy-fun twist on a classic truck — only available at Booth #834 and only while supplies last! Collectors, don’t blink... this one’s gonna vanish FAST"

On July 21, 2025, GL Collectibles shared an SDCC advert on their social media channels that included the GPK die-cast vehicle and card for Series 7 Menacing MONICA, along with other themes, and stated, "Get ready, San Diego! GreenLight Collectibles is rolling into San Diego Comic-Con 2025! Catch us at Booth #834 for exclusive die-cast collectible pieces, rare finds and vinyl stickers you won’t find anywhere else. Limited quantities – once they’re gone, they’re GONE!"



As with last years convention, that covered Series 1 through 5, Greenlight Collectibles handed out five different GPK promo cards, but they are regular-sized and not giant/jumbo. SDCC 2024 card 'SUPER Snotty' was handed out on Wednesday, Series 7 card 'Menacing MONICA' was handed out on Thursday, Series 9 card 'LILY No Problema' [vehicle not yet released] was handed out on Friday, Series 8 card 'Calamity CALE' [vehicle not yet released] was handed out on Saturday, and SDCC 2025 card 'ADAM Bomb' was handed out on Sunday [NOTE: 'ADAM Bomb' font is correct and states 'Series 8' and '1 of 6' on back for some reason]; the packaged card with vehicle reads 'Adam BOMB']. For reasons unknown, Series 6 'Joyriding GINA' and Series 9 'Ucanny ALI' [vehicle not yet released] were not used. The artwork was all completed by artists BRENT Engstrom, except for 'ADAM Bomb', painted by artist DAVID Gross.

The week of September 09, 2025, Homage dropped three new GPK t-shirt designs to their website. The Boney JOANIE image has the character holding and eating a turkey leg, with digestive juices running 'through' her body and over her sketeton. On September 10, 2025, Homage posted a GPK ad to their social media channels, stating, "Remember the Garbage Pail Kids - We have a tee for that!", which popped up in users' feeds, and later one that showed up within users' stories, both sponsored adverts saying and displaying '3 New Tees', which were showcased within the ads as either folded and unfolded, respectively.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, artist DAVID Gross took to Facebook to announce that, "The new 2025 Bowman Chrome MLB set comes out 9/10. I painted 50 Garbage Pail Kids for the set featuring Hall of Famers, current vets, rookies and up and coming prospects. The cards will also have Red Refractors /5 and Super Refractors 1/1. There will also be one other big surprise for the cards not yet announced." On Friday, August 15, 2025, Topps took to their social media channels to state, "ANNOUNCEMENT: Juan Soto has his own GPK trading card in 2025 Bowman Chrome…and it’s featured on the October cover of PSACard magazine"



At the same time, PSA Card & PSA Card TCG also posted to their social media channels, stating, "Garbage Pail Kids cover variants and exclusive promo cards are coming to both editions of PSA Magazine in October for first time ever to celebrate four memorable decades of GPK. All Collectors Club members will receive a collectible cover, but only Collectors Club Premium members will receive a promo card. To receive one of these exclusive promo cards with the October issue, join Collectors Club Premium or upgrade your existing membership by August 31."

On September 16, 2025, Topps took to social media to announce another level of chase cards for the Bowman Chrome MLB x GPK release, stating, "FIRST LOOK: 2025 Bowman Chrome will feature the first-ever Bowman GPK autograph cards. As an added bonus, some athletes even inscribed their own GPK character name on the card!" Artist DAVE Gross also shared the post and mentioned, "Garbage Pail Kids MLB AUTOGRAPH cards I painted! These are in Bowman Chrome out 9/24. Limited to ten each per player (most of the 50 players signed). AND most also signed their official GPK name in the name plate!" Per updated Topps checklist, 39 out of 50 MLB player autograph cards can be found.

Per ToppsRIPPED article on September 18, 2025, describing the different box variations, "Between Hobby, Delight, and Mega boxes, 2025 Bowman Chrome Baseball offers collectors unique experiences. The collectors love them, which is why we have been continuing this subset. On December 24, 2024, GPK News posted the final production mock-up images for the Series 4 Figural Bag Clip release, showcasing the character line-up, the wrapper/pack, and box packaging. Checklist changes from tentative line-up, that I sent to Topps/Ira on December 09, 2021, to final release; only one character change/addition and one nomenclature change. The mock-up sheet showed up online around April 2024, and even earlier for their catalog. The no.6 'ROY Bot' character listed was originally planned for the tentative Series 4 release, but pulled and used in Series 3, to replace the JOE Blow character which was removed, and renamed 'Hot Head HARVEY'; most likely due to the fact that the Bazooka brand was acquisitioned by Apax Partner in October 2023. The CHASE nomenclature shows up on the foam 'cards', so listed as 'Exclusive A' & 'Exclusive B' within the catalog, and Fryin(g)' RYAN was changed to Charred CHAD. Pre-orders for Series 4 started to post online mid-2024, but so far only at BAM! (Books-a-Million), with the manufacturer listed as Alliance Entertainment (LLC), a worldwide wholesaler and distributor of home entertainment products.

On February 19, 2025, around 1:55pm CT, Polyphony sent out a blast email titled, "Adam Bomb is Nearly Here!", to collectors that had purchased and pre-ordered the high-end figure from their website after the 2024 New York Comic Con. The body of the email stated, "Adam Bomb is on the Water! We told you we’d keep you updated as we got closer, and here it is. The Maestro Series | GPK Adam Bomb has made its way from China, through the Panama Canal, and is currently headed up the East Coast to a port in the USA! It should be arriving in the next couple of weeks, and we’ll begin shipping them out shortly after. It won't be long until the best Adam Bomb ever blasts off and lands in your hands."



Additionally, the email went on to describe the new packaging for the figure, which is differnet than the pre-release boxes seen at the 2024 NYCC, stating, "We are presenting here an exclusive first look at the packaging of the Adam Bomb, because we went all in. In typical Polyphony fashion the box isn’t just a box. Just like the rest of the figure, it's loaded with hidden references and Easter eggs for you to uncover. Trust us, when you see it in person, you'll understand exactly why we had to go the extra mile. It’s designed to look (and feel) like a GIANT piece of bubblegum. The surface texture is as close as you can get to real bubblegum without it actually being gum! If you look closely, you'll see that the pink is speckled with white accents that mimic the powder on classic gum. Even the embossing on the box is inspired by the classic GPK Cheap Toys Candy series. We’ll send out a final update when your specific order is shipped out. Around 11pm CT, on February 19, 2025, Polyphony took to their social media channels to also share the update, stating, "The 15” Maestro Series | GPK Adam Bomb box looks and feels like a GIANT piece of bubblegum. It’s speckled with white accents to mimic powdered gum and textured just like real gum. We’ve even got hidden references and Easter eggs like embossing as a nod to the classic GPK Cheap Toys Candy series. This is truly a box worthy of a Polyphony Maestro Series figure experience. On February 28, 2025, Polyphony took to social media to announce their attendance of the 2025 Toy Fair, which ran from March 01 through March 04, at the Javits Center, NYC, stating, "Exclusives. All new products. Global debuts. Featuring: Casper, My Pet Monster, Teletubbies, Osamu Goods, Garbage Pail Kids… and much, much more. Booth 6058 – Drop on by!" And image of the ADAM Bomb Maestro Series can be seen dead center.





On March 01, 2025, artist JOE Simko—attending the Toy Fair for his Craniacs brand—posted two pics of several upcoming card-size sculpted figures, stating, "Some very cool and accurately 'on-model' sculpts at the Polyphony booth at Toy Fair, NYC this weekend." Sculpted figures included card characters from the OS1, OS2, OS3, OS7 & BNS2 sets. These reportedly would be packaged within blind boxes, if released.

On Friday, August 15, 2025, Topps took to their social media channels to announce the 2025 MLB Bowman Chrome release that would contain GPK baseball player caricatures by artist DAVID Gross. Additionally, Topps and PSA Card announced that PSA Magazine would have two covers for the 40th anniversary of GPK, a sports cover with Mets® player JUAN Soto (& premium members would receive a sports GPK card) and a pop culture & TCG GPK cover (& premium members would receive a non-sports GPK card). The 40th ADAM Bomb character can be located within several licensed anniversary products, as well as within the 'Worst of' anniversary release. PSA, of course, stands for 'Professional Sports Authenticator'.





Per PSA Card, "Garbage Day: PSA Magazine & Garbage Pail Kids. Garbage Pail Kids cover variants and exclusive promo cards are coming to both editions of PSA Magazine in October for first time ever to celebrate four memorable decades of GPK. All Collectors Club members will receive a collectible cover, but only Collectors Club Premium members will receive a promo card. To receive one of these exclusive promo cards with the October issue, join Collectors Club Premium or upgrade your existing membership by August 31." On Thursday, August 14, 2025, Swag Golf took to their social media channels to announce a new GPK release—and not just an unannounced drop (at 1pm CT)—stating, "You can’t keep them sealed forever. We opened up a fresh pack and pulled out some of our favorites, 8a Adam Bomb, 208a Joel Hole and 5a Dead Ted. Available NOW on swaggolf.com." We haven't seen a release from Swag Golf since 2023, where they were making GPK drops for three years; after not seeing any product in 2024, it's nice to see the tight GPK stitching is still on the course.





Two different SWAG® GPK ads were released on social media channels for the three different driver covers. The three characters were previously released as blade and mallet covers, and the drops sold out almost immediately, with little to no announcement. The ADAM Bomb blade and mallet covers were released in 2021, the Dead TED blade and mallet covers were released in 2022, and the JOEL Hole blade and mallet covers were released in 2023. On July 11, 2025, Thrilljoy Collectibles revealed the full ADAM Bomb figure (L.E. 6000 PCS), including the 1/6 chance of a Dead TED chase character (L.E. 1000 PCS), and the ADAM Bomb super chase with the '4' '0' candles and two nukes (L.E. 48 PCS, based off of the Greenlight Collectibles 40th anniversary ADAM Bomb artwork created by artist DAVID Gross. Thrilljoy stated, "Are these SDCC reveals blowing your mind? There's still more to come, like this GPK Adam Bomb!" On July 18, 2025, Thrilljoy posted the SDCC exclusives figure charts to their social media channels, stating, "SDCC exclusives coming in hot! We'll see you next week at booth 4845! Or online Wednesday 7/23 @ 6pm. If you can't join, we will still have plenty of surprises and giveaways for you here! Make sure you are following us for more! NOTE: UCC exclusives will not be sold at the Thrilljoy booth." On July 23, 2025, around 8:15pm CT, Thrilljoy notified collectors via email blast, as promised, that the ADAM Bomb figure had posted to their site, with the subject title, "The wait is over! PIX!
