DEF'N:
a Licensing Agreement, or license agreement,
is a contract between the owner of a patent, brand or trademark and
a company that wants to use the patented or trademarked for product
and services. The license grants permission to the licensee and includes
rules and stipulations. The licensee must honor these guidelines by
the licensor and the contract agreement by both parties.

The
year 2025 continued GPK licenses from existing contracts, in the absence
of retired Ira Friedman (VP of Licensing & Publishing), and brand-new
contracts currently on hold; it is still rumoured that Fanatics wanted
to limit and reduce the amount of GPK licenses for the time being. Retail/hobby
card releases have also slowed down; but online material have held onto
their scheduled releases. Alphabetically, the pre-existing license agreements
with Topps for the Garbage Pail Kids brand and continued product included,

Four
and a half years after the hardcover version, Abrams Books is releasing
a softcover edition of their R.L. Stine Garbage Pail Kids (Book #1)
Welcome to Smellville story, through their Amulet Books imprint, that
publishes novels, graphic novels and nonfiction for young adults. The
release was listed to the Abrams website and to retail websites, as
a preorder, in mid-December 2024. One would assume that Book #2 and
Book #3 will follow suit.

Checklist changes from tentative line-up, that I sent to Topps/Ira on December 09, 2021, to final release; only one character change/addition and one nomenclature change. The mock-up sheet showed up online around April 2024, and even earlier for their catalog. The no.6 'ROY Bot' character listed was originally planned for the tentative Series 4 release, but pulled and used in Series 3, to replace the JOE Blow character which was removed, and renamed 'Hot Head HARVEY'; most likely due to the fact that the Bazooka brand was acquisitioned by Apax Partner in October 2023. The CHASE nomenclature shows up on the foam 'cards', so listed as 'Exclusive A' & 'Exclusive B' within the catalog, and Fryin(g)' RYAN was changed to Charred CHAD. Pre-orders for Series 4 started to post online mid-2024, but so far only at BAM! (Books-a-Million), with the manufacturer listed as Alliance Entertainment (LLC), a worldwide wholesaler and distributor of home entertainment products.
