1 quart water
4 oz. castile soap flakes
4-8 total drops essential oil(s) (optional)
Bring water to a boil. Turn off heat and pour over soap flakes. Stir until flakes dissolve. Add essential oil(s). Bottle & store properly.
If you want this to be a special herbal shampoo, make an infusion of selected herb(s). Instead of water, pour the herb infusion over the castile flakes.
Mild & gentle
Great for ANY hair type
Soapwort got its name baceause of the fact that it is nature's cleanser, her shampoo. Its leaves and roots produce a liquid that will lather and make those suds we all love. And it actually removes grease & dirt, just like our commercial soaps & shampoos, & is ALL NATURAL! Check out your local herb farms or All-Natural type of stores.
8 fl.oz. water
1 TBsp dried soap wort
1 egg yolk
juice of 1 Lemon, strained
Boil the water, pour it over the saopwort, stir well. Leave to infuse & cool down. Whisk egg yolk & lemon juice together, add to cooled infusion. Fill an empty, completely cleaned shampoo bottle or some similar type container so it won't spill. Store in fridge. When you use it, make sure every trace is rinsed out, as with all shampoos.
Convenient & time saving. Can be used during cold weather without the risk of wet hair that may contribute to chills & colds. Also useful as conditioners for limp, greasy hair. Brush it in & brush it out. Your hair will have a luster & gloss unobtainable by any other means.
Mix together: 1 TBsp each finely ground Cornmeal, finely ground Almonds, and Orris Root powder.
Grab your brush.... Always brush your hair from the bottom up. Start at the bottom of one side and brush downward. Move the brush up a bit and brush down. Keep doing this until hair is brushed. This makes sure that you don't go ripping through your hair from brushing all the way down through it. Starting at the bottom allows you to gently smooth out your hair, so when you finally get to the top to brush all the way down, it won't tear through. Always brush gently.
Bending over at the waist, hang your head down and brush from the nape of the neck all the way down. Work out gently any snarls or knots from flipping your hair over. When done, rub the dry shampoo into your scalp. Brush hair again until most of the mixture is out. There may be a little bit still in there, which will come out on your next wet shampoo.
