“Oh, God, I can’t believe I’m late,” said thirteen year old, Noelle Adams, to herself. Yet again, she was late for band practice with her friends, Felicity, fourteen, and Collette, also fourteen. “They are going to kill me if I don’t get my butt over there now.” Noelle was so busy thinking of the lecture that awaited her; she wasn’t watching where she was going and ran right into someone as she turned the corner. “Ohmigod! I am so sorry!” Noelle apologized to the boy of about twelve in front of her.
“It’s okay. Are you all right?” the boy asked.
“Yeah. I’m okay. Oh, I’m sorry. My name is Noelle. Noelle Adams,” she introduced herself as two older boys ran up to them.
“Zac! We told you to watch where you were going! Are you okay?” the boy of fifteen asked.
“Yeah. We’re okay. Tay, Ike, this is Noelle. Noelle, these are my older brothers, Isaac and Taylor,” Zac introduced them.
“Nice to meet you,” Isaac said.
“Likewise,” Noelle replied. “Um, look, I’m really sorry, but I am extremely late for band practice. Here’s my address. Maybe I could buy you a Coke or something to make up for running into you. Later!”
“Okay, bye!” the three brothers said in unison as Noelle took off.
“Quite a motor mouth, huh?” Taylor said.
“She seems to be a lot like you Zac,” Isaac said.
“Yeah, and she said she’s in a band, too. Just like us,” Zac replied.
“Yeah. Look, she lives like a street down from us on South 90th,” Taylor informed Isaac and Zac.
“Cool,” Isaac replied. “We’ll have to give her a little visit later.”
“Yeah,” Taylor and Zac agreed.
“I’m just surprised she didn’t scream. I mean almost every girl I run into screams,” Zac said.
“Zac, she was probably to stunned from the fall to realize it was us. Plus she said she was late for band practice,” Isaac said.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Zac replied.
“Well, you guys want to go home?” Taylor asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Isaac replied. “Then, later, say around six, we can go to this Noelle’s house.”
“Cool!” Zac exclaimed as the headed home.
