“I know, but when I was on the corner of Glenwood and Charles, I ran into this boy. We both went down and his two brothers ran up and helped us up,” Noelle defended herself.
“Were they cute?” Col, Noelle’s other friend, asked.
“I couldn’t see. I was in such a rush to get here I didn’t have time to look. All I know is that they were all blonde,” Noelle replied.
“That would be funny if you ran into Hanson,” Felicity said.
“Tell me about it. Well, I might be seeing more of them. I gave them my address before I ran off,” Noelle said.
“Cool. Tell us if they’re cute as soon as you see them again,” Col requested.
“Okay. I will. We better get to practicing if we’re going to have those voice lessons at my house in a half an hour,” Noelle said, picking up her guitar.
“Yeah, then after voice lessons, we get to PAR-TY!” Felicity exclaimed. “You won’t have a house after we hit it!”
“I know. Don’t remind me,” Noelle said. “What do you guys want to play?”
“Umm, how about ‘Out of the Darkness’?” Col suggested.
“Okay,” Felicity and Noelle agreed.
So, the girls began to play. Their voices blended beautifully together. After the song was over, Noelle began to criticize yet again. “Ick! I was SO off key!” “You were fine,” Col moaned and rolled her eyes.
“If we ever want to go professional, we have to be better than fine. We have to be great. Like, sensational,” Noelle said, beginning to daydream.
“Noelle, grow up. No way will we ever be that good,” Felicity said.
“Hey, I can dream,” Noelle defended.
“Yeah, about meeting Ike,” Col snickered.
“I wouldn’t talk. You do the same about Tay,” Noelle retorted.
“Guys, please. Let’s finish practicing then head over to Noe’s house,” Felicity pleaded.
“Okay,” Noelle said. “Let’s do ‘Do It My Way’ and ‘Always Yours’.”
“All right,” Felicity, from behind her drums, and Col, from behind her keyboard, said in unison. They played the two songs.
This time Noelle had a different opinion. “Those were great! We were all on time and on key! Great guys!” she exclaimed.
“Koo, now let me and Col get our stuff and my mom will drive us over to your house,” Felicity said.
“I think I’ll walk. You guys will need all the room you can get in that car,” Noelle said.
“You sure?” Col asked.
“Yeah,” Noelle replied. “I’ll see you two soon. Toodles.” Noelle then left the garage and headed for her house, which was only a few houses down.
