Isaac looked around the empty, except for Libby and him, room. He smiled. “Everyone disappeared.”

Libby smiled. “Zac and Jenn left a few minutes ago…”

Ike smiled. “He likes her.”

Libby nodded. “Yea, she liked him too. They’d make a cute couple.”

Ike lowered his voice some. “He really likes her. He wants to kiss her…”

Knowing they were no longer talking about Zac and Jenn, Libby responded, “She wants to kiss him too. She’s been entranced by his lips since they started talking.”

Isaac slowly and carefully neared his face to Libby’s. “He’s kinda scared…” he whispered.

“So’s she…” Libby trailed.

“Does she want him to kiss her? He doesn’t want to get slapped or anything considering he’s moving kinda fast…”

Libby breathed a laugh. “She wants to be kissed. He may be moving fast, but so is she…”

Slowly, carefully, and tenderly, Isaac connected his lips with Libby’s. After about ten seconds, Isaac pulled away. “That…that was…I liked that…”

Libby nodded, lost in his deep brown eyes. “I’ve wanted to do that since I sat down here with you…”

“Me too…me too.”

Libby watched Isaac intently. He was so…perfect. Especially today considering he was having a good hair day and his squint was at a minimum. She smiled a bit, not able to help it. His lips slowly spread into a smile also. “You have a great smile.”

Libby blushed. “Thanks…”

Ike kept the small smile playing on his lips. “Anytime.” He watched her thoughtfully, then spoke up, “Hey, do you want to…well, go do something?”

Libby smiled and nodded. “Yea, that’d be awesome.”

Ike smiled back. “Cool, c’mon.” He stood up and helped her up, her skin against his sending chills up and down his spine. Little did he know, she had the same reaction. Nervously, Ike looked toward Libby. “Uhh…where do you wanna go?” Libby smiled and looked back at Isaac’s warm brown eyes. “Wherever. I don’t know my way around.”

Ike smiled. “Neither do I…I’ve never really been in this part of town. So, if we get lost, it’s not my fault,” he grinned innocently.

Libby laughed. “No…it’s Tay’s right?”

Ike laughed. “Oh yea, it’s always Tay’s fault.”

Libby smiled, thinking of her and Jenn’s inside joke of Taylor and his ‘flares’. She hid a small laugh and looked at Ike. He was in space again. She was somewhat freaked when Isaac looked at her like that. It were as if his life depended on the sight of her. She laughed and looked away shyly. She was still having trouble grasping onto the fact that Isaac and she had shared the soft tender kiss that they had. Her lips curled up into a small smile thinking of the wonderful, peaceful feeling that she had felt when his soft lips connected with hers. She smiled wistfully, the sweet scene playing in her mind over and over again.

Isaac stared deep into Libby’s eyes. He was lost in the depths of her eyes, trying his hardest to read her thoughts. Her eyes were soft and welcoming. Her eyes had been the main reason he had acted on his feelings. If they were dark or unwelcoming, he wouldn’t have even tried it. Libby seemed so sweet though. He slowly and shyly offered Libby his hand. She took it with a warm smile and they headed toward the back exit.

Libby looked up at Isaac. “Where’re we going?” she asked, just above a whisper. “I dunno,” Ike replied in the same tone of voice and he gave her a sly smile.

Libby gave a light laugh. “So in other words, we’re going out to get lost?”

Ike nodded. “Yea, pretty much.”

“Wonderful,” she replied smiling.

Ike returned the smile and poked his head out of the back door. “Looks clear.”

Libby stepped out, Isaac close behind. Just as they began to walk off, a trio of teenyboppers came running after the two.

Isaac grasped Libby’s hand and took off running, his only warning a yell of, “C’mon!”

Libby began running, once she had caught her balance, up the alley toward a glint of light. She heard one of the girls, shrieking a cry of, “Oh my God, he has a girlfriend!” over and over again. The girl was actually crying too.

Ike and Libby ran into that glint of light, then ducked in a store. The girls kept running up the street, obviously confused.

“You okay?” Isaac asked Libby, trying to catch his breath.

She nodded, trying to do the same as Isaac.

“Sorry about that.”

“It’s alright.” Libby smiled. She looked around the store. It was mainly candles, incense, candleholders, incense trays, bead curtains, things like that. Lots like an East Meets West store. All that good stuff Jenn was into.

Ike looked around the store. He saw the cashiers behind the counter and was ready to leave.

There were three of them, two females and one male, all dressed in black. Each had on white make up to make them look deathly pale and then had on dark lipstick and whatnot.

“Um, I don’t need anything from here…” Ike trailed, slowly inching to the door.

Libby looked around the small store and turned. “Me neither. We can go.”

Once outside, Isaac gave a sigh. “Those people were weird!”

“I didn’t notice…”

Isaac slowly took Libby’s hand in his as they walked slowly up Main Street. Libby blushed a bit and smiled up at him.

“I never knew you could feel this way about a person in a matter of hours…” Ike trailed.

“Well, they always say to keep your mind open to new ideas.”

Ike smiled. “That’s for sure.” They walked on, a pleasant silence between them. Usually, any silence is disturbing, but it wasn’t so for this one.

Isaac was thinking deeply about whether or not to ask Libby to be his girl, afraid of rejection because he was moving too fast. He liked her though. A lot. And he wanted to prove that…in so many ways.

Libby was thinking about the same thing essentially. What if Isaac did ask? What would she say? At the moment, knowing him for about two hours seemed much more like two years. She nodded in her mind. If he asked, she would answer. Answer yes that is.
