The next day Kim sat in her room. She laid on her bed and thought about what had happened the day before.
“One stupid kiss. That’s all it was...it meant nothing. It was an accident. It meant nothing.” She thought about that last statement. She didn’t want it to mean anything, but deep down, it did. She pushed the thought out of her head.
“I have to talk to Taylor,” she concluded out loud to herself. She put her hair in a messy ponytail. She walked downstairs, put on her jacket, and made her way to Taylor’s house.
Meanwhile…
“How could you, Zac?” Taylor yelled “You’re my brother your not suppose to do that to me!”
“Tay, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to it was all an accident. I swear it meant nothing!”
“Yeah, like hell it didn’t,” Tay yelled “I gotta get out of here,” Tay realized as he picked up his wallet and keys and put on his jacket. He stormed out of the house, got in his car, and pulled away not exactly sure where he was going. All he knew was he had to get away.
Meanwhile…
At Jenn’s house, Jennifer sat staring at pictures she had taken when they were at Great Adventure. One picture was of her and Zac and another of her, Zac, Tay, and Kim. They all looked so happy. Jenn slowly tore Kim off the end of the picture. She looked at her friend and her eyes welled up with tears.
“How could you? You knew I loved him. Why, Kim? Why?” she choked between cries.
“Well, it doesn’t matter now. Zac and I are through and so are me and you,” she cried. Then, her doorbell rang. She ran down stairs, deep in her heart hoping it would be Zac, but as she opened the door, she found the wrong brother standing there.
“Hey,” was all he said in a low voice.
“Hey,” she spoke, tears rolling down her face her pink cheeks. He stepped in the house and embraced her in a hug. All she could do was cry.
Meanwhile…
Kim walked up the Hanson’s porch. The whole walk there she had planned what she was going to say, but all of a sudden, the words escaped her head. She reluctantly rang the bell. She waited and when the door opened Zac stood in front of her.
“Uh...Hey,” Kim said in a shaky breath.
“Hey,” Zac spoke, his eyes meeting the pavement.
“Is Taylor home?”
“No. Actually, he just left.”
“Oh...well I guess I’ll have to talk to him later…” she trailed, turning to leave.
“Kim, I think we need to talk...” Zac said. Kim turned around with out saying a word or giving a glance and walked into the house. Zac closed the door behind her.

Jenn and Tay sat on her bed in her room.
"Taylor, how could they do that to us? I thought they loved us," Jenn cried. Taylor gently put his arm around her as she leaned over and cried into his shoulder.
"So did I, Jenn. So did I," was all he could say. Jenn sat up and looked at him.
"What happens if they were telling us the truth when they said it meant nothing? We could be blowing two great relationships for nothing."
"You call them kissing nothing?"
"I'm not saying what they did was right, but maybe we could all just sit down and talk about this..."
"Yeah, maybe your right...Well Zac’s home. I'll give Kim a call and tell her to meet us there."
Taylor picked up the phone and called Kim's house. He got her mother, who told him where Kim was. He said his good byes and hung up.
"Well?" Jenn asked.
"She's there already...her mom said she just walked there to talk to me."
"Oh, well then let's go over there." They both had the same idea in their heads, but didn't say a word. They quickly put their jackets on and headed to the house.
Meanwhile...
At the empty Hanson house, Zac and Kim sat on the couch, both staring at the walls not knowing what to say. The mood was awkward between the all too good friends.
"So..." Zac trailed.
"So...what did you need to talk to me about?" Even though she already knew what it was.
"You know what I need to talk to you about. We need to talk about that kiss."
"Zac, I'm sorry I kissed you. I didn't mean to, I didn't mean to hurt you, Jenn, or Tay" She spoke, tears beginning to trail her cheeks.
"I'm sorry too, Kim...It takes two to kiss. I really didn't mean for it to happen though. We really need to talk to Jenn and Tay."
"Yeah...I am just so sorry, Zac," Kim said as she began to cry. Zac gave her a hug.
"It's okay. It really didn't mean anything, Kim," Zac spoke soothingly, trying to calm her down, holding her close to him. She sat up and looked at him, their eyes meeting.
"Or did it?" Zac questioned, speaking the forbidden thought that both of them were experiencing. They once again found themselves leaning in for a kiss. Their lips met and neither of them pulled away. After the first few kisses, Zac slid his tongue into her mouth, just as the front door opened.

Taylor and Jenn stepped into the house to find Zac and Kim making out.
"What the hell?" Taylor yelled, standing there with his mouth wide open, rage filling his body. Zac and Kim pulled apart and looked over at him.
"Taylor, it's not what it looks like. I swear," Kim jumped up and made her way towards him.
"Oh, well you could have fooled me. It sure looked like you were kissing...what would you call it?" Taylor said backing away from her, putting his hands up so she couldn't touch him. "Don't touch me!" Tay's voice cracked slightly as he backed away.
"I don't understand. I thought this meant nothing to you two?" Jenn spoke, tears
coming to her eyes for the third time that day. It was apparent she wanted to make the best of a bad situation, but she knew she couldn't ignore something like this. Not a second time.
"Jenn, really. It meant nothing," Zac pleaded his case.
"Then why did you do it again if it meant nothing?" Zac just stood there, not knowing what to say. "Yeah, that's what I thought," Jenn nodded "I don't know what I ever saw in you. I hate you so much. I can't believe you would do this to me!" Jenn exclaimed tears streaming down her face. Then, she turned to Kim.
"I thought you were my best friend. I thought you cared about me, but obviously, I was wrong. God, how could I be so stupid. I can't believe you either. You knew I loved him and yet you just had to have him. You always have to get what you want. Always. I never want to see either of you again. I hate you both for all this shit you put Taylor and I through!" Jenn angrily spoke the words as though she had rehearsed them. Her eyes clouded with tears, but not a one fell until her speech was through. "Zac, me and you are through. And as for you, Kim, you just lost your best friend." Jenn yelled the harsh words as she stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind her.
Zac didn't even go after her, he knew she would never talk to him.
Zachary and Kim stood looking at Taylor. Kim was crying, the words Jennifer had just spoke stinging her. She knew she deserved it, and that was what hurt so much. She knew that she had it coming to her. Taylor looked at her for a second. One part of him wanted to go to her, hold her and make everything okay, but the other part, the one that was winning him over, the one filled with rage, anger, and heart-ache, exploded.
“You two have no idea how much pain you’re putting her through. Zac, she loved you. She loved you with her whole heart. She was going to forgive you until we saw shit that you two pulled again. And you,” he spoke, directing to Kim, "How could you? I thought you loved me but I was obviously very wrong."
Zac just hung his head low, turning and leaving the room, not wanting to deal anymore. It was his fault Jennifer was out of his life, his fault his brother probably wouldn’t trust him for the rest of his life.
"Taylor, that's not true. I do love you. You think I wanted this to happen? You think I meant to hurt you? Or Jenn?" Kim yelled, crying.
"Well, it happened and you didn't do anything to stop it, you just went back for more and look at all the lives you've ruined." His words were harsh and he said them loud, but both of them knew he was right.
"We were coming here to talk to you two, to try to work things out...to get back together but now...no, that will never happen. Never!" He yelled and ran upstairs to his room, slamming the door behind him. Kim slowly walked out of the house to begin her long journey home and through life, with no one to love and no true friend to turn to.
