Is your fire department, ambulance, or rescue squad prepared for a weather emergency (or for that matter, any other possible disaster)???? I know that here in South Dakota many of us think back to May 30, 1998, to what happened to Spencer, South Dakota, and wonder if any of us can really ever be ready for something like this....

Actually, I think we can all prepare to the best of our ability for the possibility of a disaster in our area, but alas, how many of us belong to a group with a multitude of "it will never happen to us" type personalities? How do we convince these people that if we simply practice a little bit of incident command tactics in whatever situation we find ourselves in, that eventually, when the "biggie" hits, we might actually be prepared!!???
I'd love to hear your input on this, any ideas, suggestions, gripes, etc, that you have, have tried, or would like to try....
