Estrella 2002
I've put names to the faces we know, if you see someone that is "nameless" please feel free to email us so we can add their name too. Thanks!

We got our booth up and were ready for Estrella to start!
 (Badir Tribal Designs)

We are grateful to the wonderful folks that provided Entertainment during Midnight Madness on Thursday night.
Shareef, Thora , Roderigo & Nashida from the Crown Principality of the North.

We sponsored a small Middle/Near East Dance exhibition on Friday afternoon. Here's pictures Kelebek doing a beautiful Uzbek dance.

Kelebek teaching Jaida how to make "popping" noise with fingers. (Like our snap) on left, Rajid playing nye on right.

On Saturday afternoon, members of Sazlar jammed in front of the booth and played some tunes from their newly released CD, Unveiled. (their website is on our links page).  Right: Mo and Bo joking around. Left: Lady Elia Stefansdotter on kanun (in blue).

Sazlar was a few members short in the percussion area, so a few chivalrous men showed up to fill the void... you might see a few familiar faces: L to R: Bryce Schulzke (Lord Wolfgang) of Kairo by Night, with the deff is Jesse Graham, Daveed of Turku,  and Baron Sylvanus. All of the percussionists playing with the Sazlar gals are members of Darbukka Camp of the Outlands (although some of them don't live in the Outlands). [Thanks to Angus for the names].
Heading back to camp.

Shots of the merchant's area. Us on the left and our friends at Domba! on the right.

Ocean & Elizabeth were there with their stuff too. (Elizabeth doing henna on left).

Some folks out of South Dakota came with their Palestinian tent (very neat!)

Then of course there are the People of Estrella, Burly-men in ultra cool hats!

...and a good time was had by all! Thanks for visiting.
