Overview: My Brief Assessment Process
I don't like details... at least not when I first start looking at something. So I don't want to belabor you with details. So I'll now present a very brief, high-level sketch of how I recommend that people organize their life-improvement efforts.
Assessing "Personal" Life-Components:
| Question | Explanation |
| Do I know myself? |
- What do I like, and dislike? - What do I believe in, and don't believe in? - etc. |
| What's important to me? |
- People. - Things. |
|
Am I getting enough time/contact with what's important? |
See the experiments page for ideas on determining what you want and what's meaningful. |
|
Do I know what I believe? (about self, others, the world in general) |
(explain) |
Assessing "Household" Life-Components:
- Does my house feel like a safe
& comfortable place to live?
- Do I get adequate nutrition
to have plenty of energy?
- Do I get enough exercise to enable me
to work & play hard?
- Do I get enough sleep to feel rested
when I wake up in the mornings?
Assessing "Community" Life-Components:
- Who do interact with in my community
on a regular basis?
- Do I enjoy these interactions?
(mutually beneficial in the long run)
- Do I believe that I have a say in community decisions?
