Serena >> DiC Sailor Moon
At the beginning of Sailor Moon, Serena is a sweet 14 year old, who attends Crossroads Junior High. Her best friend is Molly, a girl from New Jersey [or some odd place like that ^_~], and is the daughter of a wealthy Jewelery Retailer. Another character to throw in here is Melvin, who has the most ANNOYING voice ever. But anyways... Everything is fine and dandy. Serena goes to school everyday, late, hides her test score papers from her mother, and stops by the arcade center on her way home from school everyday, where the cute boy "Andrew" works. He is much older than her, and has a girlfriend, but Serena can't stop dreaming about him all the same.
One day as Serena walked to school, [no, ran is a better word. She was late again... ;)] she came across a group of boys picking on a cat. She chased them off and checked the cat out, finding it to have a bandage across its forehead. She pulled it off to find a crescent-moon shaped bald spot, but before she could really do anything, the school bell is heard off in the distance, and she leaves quickly.
Everyone at school is discussing a burglury that happened in town, and about the famous Sailor V who came in time to capture the theives. Serena dreams that she could be like Sailor V. To make a long story short, Serena gets home and falls asleep on her bed. Soon after she is awakened by a sound behind her, and sees the cat from earlier. The cat talks to her and tells her it's name is Luna, and Serena is Sailor Moon. Luna gives her a brooch and tells her to shout the words "Moon Prism Power!" Serena, going along with it all as if it's just a dream, holds up her hand and repeats the words.
To her amazment, she transforms into Sailor Moon. Quickly, she runs to where Molly is being attacked by some Nevaverse monster who's sucking the energy from Jewelery Buyers. Sailor Moon saves them, with the help of the mysterious Tuxedo Mask, and ta-da. Throughout the two seasons North America gets to see, Serena finds and befriends the four other Sailor Scouts, Sailor Mars [Raye Hino], Sailor Mercury [Amy Anderson], Sailor Jupiter [Lita], and Sailor Venus [Mina]. Her mission was to find the other Scouts, and the Moon Princess, who turned out to be herself ^^.
