Jessie Beatrice (Miller) and James Allen "Jim" Johnson Jessie & Jim were married April 24, 1931 in Minter, Lamar County, Texas. Besides the three children that died before the age of one year, they also loved and reared eight more children of which I (Vena) am one. Nine were born in Lamar County, Lillie (the youngest) and I were born in Woodland, Red River County, Texas.
Jessie was born September 26, 1908 to MaHaley Jane "Haley" (Atwood) & William Robert "Will" Miller in Denton County, Texas. She died in Paris on February 14, 1966 & is buried in West Post Oak Cemetery in Lamar Co. surrounded by many of her family members.
Jim was born July 25, 1903 to Sarah Catherine "Kate" (Wilson) & Eddie Peterson Johnson at Lake Creek, Delta County, Texas. He died at home in Woodland on January 19, 1972 & is buried in Lake Creek Cemetery close to many of his family members. Jim, Roberta & Jessie Johnson ~ 1933 |
