Although too many rules can kill creativity, there is a need for some guidelines. Therefore, these are the Rules for general posting; if you want to join, then you must accept them. (Each board master will have his/her own specific rules for the members posting on their board, though.) 1.) As with real life, courtesy and respect are a MUST here on the boards. Also, it is important to listen to your board leader, they are there to help and assist you in your RPing adventure. You must also listen to these people in matters of RPing and site decisions. However, we are all on equal footing when it comes to respect and each role player will get that, whatever their rank. So flaming and killing off characters without permission will NOT be tolerated! You should also be respectful to NPCs (Non Personal Characters) above you. Albeit, for the new recruits, your trainers will not be kind, in character, in order to make men--or women--out of you who are capable of fighting the Shadow. However, this is to be expected. Also, arrogance, if part of your character, IS allowed, yet be ready to pay the consquences if a higher ranking person is bored or feels you need to learn humility. 2.) Character development, posting at least once every two weeks, and constructive use of NPCs will get you raised. If you want to be recognized, than post and post well! So no jolly two-headed monsters from another planet, real live Dragons breathing fire, or elves running around. We are all mature people here and it should be understandable why this cannot be allowed. Also, superhero characters are, quite frankly, pointless and boring; so if you try to be a god, you shall quickly be disabused of that notion IC (in character). 3.) Everyone is here so they can have fun, even if you're covered in mud or are in some other humorous situation. This site was created for the sole purpose of having a place where freedom and liberation reigned. So, please use your creativity to take you to whole new places. For example, our esteemed Amyrlin has never picked up the concept of Aes Sedai serenity. Therefore, do not be surprised if you see her skipping down the hall and handing out flowers, or interrupting her husband's training session to sit on his lap. Of course, this does by no means say that you can do whatever you want. Any idea for role plays envolving more than yourself and training, you ought to talk to one of us and get the go ahead--which, if it sounds fun and reasonable, you'll most likely get. If you have any qualms, email either your board leader or the site leaders depending on how different the idea is and we shall resolve it in a mature manner. AND, most importantly, when writing, do keep in mind that role playing is not about rank or power, rather on the effort put into your work. Do something you can be proud of and rank is sure to come along with it. 4.) To avoid confusion, please have your character's name and email address on your post. This is a benefit to all writing at the site. Makes life easier for the BLs and also if someone really likes your character they can get in touch with you to possible start a new string together. 5.) Alright, to begin Quince will be the first to admit that this rule is totally out of bounds, selfish, has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but you will answer to him should you break it. Our M'Hael loves his wife, the Amyrlin, dearly and understands that she has not mastered Aes Sedai calm. That means that if she wants pickled ice cream for dinner in pineapple sauce, you will choke down every last bite and compliment her on her wonderful choice of food, unless he says you can do otherwise. Humor her in whatever silly nonsense she does, for you will be wise to understand that she is well loved by her husband. These rules are simple and easy to understand, therefore it is reasonable that they can be followed and adhered to in the spirit the rules were written. If you have a problem with one of them (exception, last rule), then let us know and we will discuss a possible rule change if you have valid reasons for changing the rule.
Now that all that is completed, please continue on and enjoy yourselves. Be crazy, have lots of fun, and let the creativity flow!
