OUR FRIENDS ARE LIKE
ANGELS
Our friends are like angels
who brighten our days
In all kinds of wonderful,
magical ways
Their thoughtfulness comes
as a gift from above
And we feel we're surrounded
by warm, caring love.
Like upside-down rainbows
their smiles bring the sun
And they fill ho-hum moments
with laughter and fun.
Friends are like angels
without any wings,
Blessing our lives
with the most precious things.
Poem by ~ Emily Matthews ~

Open Your Heart First
Before the voices of the Earth's choirs
were raised in praise
there was a silent night.
Before the strings of light were wrapped
around the world, and tinsel strung
there was a single star.
Before the merry greetings and all the hopeful wishes
there was a voice in the desert saying,
"Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men."
Before the wide-eyed wonder of a child
on Christmas morn, before the gifts,
there was a Child born in Bethlehem
who showed the world
that the greatest gift of all is Love.
This Christmas, open your heart first.

Smiles
Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin -
When he smiled I realized, I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized it's worth,
a single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected -
Let's start an epidemic quick and get the world infected!

An Angel Appeared
I was sad and all alone,
The worst feeling I had known.
I felt a hand reach out to me,
Somehow set my spirit free.
I looked to see who was there.
There was no one standing there.
I thought I'd felt a feathery wing,
Thought I heard an Angel sing.
I felt a soft warm breeze,
As my pain began to ease.
I had a feeling I was not alone.
The strangest feeling I had known.
In the darkest hour an Angel appears,
Gently caressing away my fears.
I must be protected by an Angel's love,
God sent down from up above.

Love is patient and kind;
It is not jealous or conceited or proud;
Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;
Love does not keep a record of wrongs;
Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth;
Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience never fail.
Love is eternal.
Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love;
and the greatest of these is love.

WHAT DO ANGELS LOOK
LIKE?
~By Veronica M. Hay~
Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world,
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is possible, if only you believe.
Like the stranger, who just happened to come along when you had lost your way.
Like the friend who touched your heart when you didn't think you had one to touch.
Angels come on all sizes and shapes, all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles, some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies, teachers, students, spouses, and parents.
They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.
They wear sneakers with gossamer wings, they get a deal on dry cleaning.
They are hard to find when your eyes are closed, but they are everywhere you look when you
choose to see.

Someday
A little girl lay down to sleep
Beside a rippling stream
She snuggled with the flowers
And she began to dream.
She dreamed that she was flying
With the Angels up above
They swooped her up and flew with her
And surrounded her with love. When she awoke she had a smile
And her heart was filled with glee
"I'll be an Angel too one day,
Just you wait and see!"
