View from the Editors Chair Another year drawing to a close, and what a great year it has been for the Stevenage & District Branch. We have had the most successful fundraising programme in the history of the Branch. Flag days alone this year have pulled in a magnificent £3,110.38 This has been made possible due to the commitment and support of branch members. Well done everyone! The money we raise goes, in the main, to support our members but we also send what we can to National Centre. With this kind of solid support, we can not only continue to enhance the quality of life for members and their families, but also continue to support the work of the MS Society in researching for a cure for MS. One of the MS Society's main objectives is to promote and fund MS research. The Society fund scientific and applied research in order to make maximum impact on MS, and the quality of life of people affected by MS, around £2 million is pumped into research each year. It has now been a year since we started producing the newsletter in this format. I hope you have enjoyed reading it and that we have been able to keep you informed and hopefully entertained. I have thoroughly enjoyed editing it and look forward to doing so in the New Year. Have a happy and peaceful Christmas and a Hazel Smiling is Infectious; you can catch it like the flu. I started smiling too. I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin. I thought about that smile, and realised it's worth. So if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected.
