Andrew, are you high on any foreign substance? ;) I have no idea what you are saying. I have no issue with you personally. I'm sure you are a fine human being. But you make no sense man. Unto your self perhaps. Ahh.. That's it. You're a mystic. Could you do this over and try to communicate your poem and explanation in a more articulate, comprehensive manner? My black cat, Joshu, just left the room, without finishing his tea. It's his way of telling us to put it all down. All this, thinking mind.
my
reply
well do you notice that your reply is self centered and ill mannered? you don't understand therefore i must be high ( I don't even drink coffee !)
it's not explainable in a simpler way, you have felt what it is about which is why you replied, it draws you, yet to understand it requires where you cannot go with your self-assurance about your knowledge of the world !
your world is a cat, a buddha statue and karate, mine is the purl of that water :o)
mossy mcnarry replies
Andrew. You take yourself much too seriously. I was not being deliberately unkind. It's difficult to understand you. Self centered? Ill mannered? No. Honest. Your pride gives no room for play or criticism. Drink tea. A clairvoyant, you know all about my life. It only consists of cats and statues. You are far superior. Your world is the *purl* of that water and I'm just a waste. Your way of speech is mumbled, like you talk to yourself. Stay in that water now. Someday I hope I reach your heights
my reply
you are offended at a bit of real dealing? you are pretending to an understanding you don't have and can't cope with being shown up !
“drink tea” and “thinking mind” you have the zen clichés down pat, but you know it's just stupidity !

Dear son of Dogen, I am writing on behalf of the human race to pay homage to your infinite wisdom, unsurpassed expression of poetry and great insights into human nature. That said, I hardly take anyone who puts egotistical videos of themselves on Youtube, reading their own poetry no less, (!) seriously, at all. You are slightly delusional. There is no zen by the way. Get rid of zen and you'll find Zen. Look! I see a great light burning afar off! Oh, it's just Andrew, angry again at the world.
my reply
i'm slightly delusional for reading my own poetry ? toss the human race to your cat! there is zen btw, just very rare in any sort of real form
yeah I burn all my life and so do you, the difference being I have got a few things sorted out and you are mired in mental dullness, clichés and stupidity : o()
what pisses me off about you shits is you never do anything creative or original yourself and and act like demons when you get upset because you are shown that clichés and rote uncritical learning of bullshit like what passes for zen means you are just stupid victims of a con game that you then try to pass onto everyone else : o) (

interestingly most enviromental mercury is anthropogenic (sourced from man's activities !) going back to 2000 bce !
it
bounces between the various compartments of the atmosphere, land and ocean before eventually becoming lockedup in mineral form which can take thousands of years !
one of the implications is that since enviromental mercury is now 6 times what it was in 2000 bce, mercury levels in fish are much higher than what we have been evolutionarily designed to tolerate so caution is needed when eating fish/seafood with a focus on reducing the size of the fish and quantity eaten to get the best nutritional value versus mercury dose, also taking into account what sort of fish, where it comes from and the size and location of its prey and hence the degree of bioaccumulation of mercury!
arsenic is another toxic mineral prevalent in
seafood !
it is advisable to have fish and seafood in the diet as they are good sources of many valuable nutrients so it's a question minimizing the toxic heft from mercury and arsenic ! : o ( )

my recommendation (7/7/13) for a solid state disk (SSD!) is a 128 gig samsung 840 pro, it's better to buy two 128s rather than one 256 gig as this splits the failure risk between two rather than losing everything with one !
also the power dissipation per disk is lower ! :o)
the advantage of solid state disks is they are considerably faster ! : o )
the disadvantage is they seem to have variable reliability which makes the brand important and can fail without warning !
i find that turning off the write cache buffer flushing (checking the box alongside), in device manager - diskdrives - “the disk of interest” - properties - policies is the most reliable with a minimal (no guarantees, there's afew depends : o) penalty in terms of data loss if the power is lost imo : o)
this suddden failure mode of ssds gives hard disks a place on your pc and i am keeping mine since the failure risk is different with magnetic rather than semiconductor memory so you can use a hard disk in combination with ssd's cross backup ing important files
you run the operating system on the ssd and keep or back up important and media files on the hard disk so that if the ssd fails suddenly (ssd's can fail without warning whereas with hdds you generally get some signs before you lose access to the data !) you still have your files :o)
also you can cross back up hdd files on the ssd !
in my view this set up is better than ssd only raid since all the ssds in the raid array are susceptible to permanent loss with a power spike or glitch : o(

“ hunting the snark ” is the search for transcendence, for the true self.
the bellman is like a priest, who can only lead others and point the way, haplessly, regurgitating what he has heard and going strictly by the book.
although seeming to be on the hunt for the snark, the butcher can only hunt beavers (women). he gets sidetracked with the beaver and ends up impressing it with his faux intellect. they end up needing each other, seeking comfort in the memory of the time they connected. they're both hopeless as far as the snark goes, but of course the bellman is happy that they become inseparable (because he himself doesn't know what it'll take to find the snark)
the barrister dreams of the snark, imagining himself to be not only the best lawyer, but also judge and jury. he's above the law, and everybody is in awe of his ability. his vanity will do him in. he can only dream of the snark. (perhaps in the dream, where he is defending the pig – the pig is his body, which breaks free of the sty [the mundane world]. the snark, knowing this to be better for the pig, defends it in court [against society]. but, because the snark gets carried away for too long with his ego, the pig dies. the barrister will die before reaching transcendence)
the banker meets his demise without finding the snark. being too involved in money leads to his downfall.
only the courageous baker, who leaves nearly everything behind and even forgets his name, has what it takes. he dreams of what the snark might be, but he's terrified that the snark might be a boojum, because the boojum would mean his extinction. in other words, he hasn't left it all behind because he still has a conception of good or bad. it's only when he goes out to search on his own that he stumbles upon it. his joy at having found himself can only be so brief as he realizes that it means he (or who he used to be) is a goner. but is he dead? or simply gone, gone, gone beyond...
is the message (ed. of lewis carroll's poem) that the only
real snark
must be a boojum?
how is that interpretation?
i wonder about the celibacy thing, myself. i've been told that “there must” be a way to have a partner and also “hunt the snark”, but i've not seen any working examples of it...
my reply
i think there's real and unreal/unreal and real snarks of which only a tiny tiny proportion are also boojums.............
mujaku is agood example of some-one who has half hit a snark that was aboojum, but his was
unreal and the real is not properly developed, like any sense of being wrong or self-effacement : o ( )
further thoughts
i thought your analysis of “ the hunting of the snark ” was quite good, it was from an angle i hadn't really thought of so have put it up on this page if that's ok !
what is interesting in the light of our discussion about celibacy is i had to think about your “snark analysis”, my initial reaction was that's not how i think therefore it's “bad” or not right, but on further thinking about it i could see the validity and benefit of what you were saying and this sort of “correction” takes quite abit of time and freedom from self-esteem which is the real work and actually you can see that without the celibacy and solitary living it's not really possible to the same extent and one ends up a manic perseverative nut like
mujaku
the other side is that not being in a relationship one ends up very unbalanced and making stupid life and other decisions and the male and female brains are not really designed to work functionally without balancing input from the other half ..................

I would think you have more in common than not. At least, you seem to agree about who doesn't know anything. ;-)
my
reply
i don't deny the commonality, the difference which you can see if you look through his writing and video comments is that he doesn't test his hypotheses rigorously which unfortunately makes him truely schizophrenic : o(
to test properly and definitively and form hypotheses from infinity rather than mara is of
course “ for the snark was aboojum you see ! ”
the problem is that to generate these hypotheses and the testing requires so much time and such a strongly malfunctioning life that in almost any context except celibacy, it's too destructive which is what happens of course with the married suburban zen that almost exclusively passes for what zen is today :o(
tho i don't think celibacy is any answer either : o()

mujaku replies
Why would the blessing of a Buddha who, btw, said that he is not a human (A. ii. 38), be “human hell”? A human wills himself to hell by thinking and behaving in hellish ways

no additive double cream is super strongly preferred to butter on the biofilm/microbiome carbohydrate

i normally eat quite abit of no - additive (no alginate/seaweed/carrageenan thickeners !) double cream, but ran out and went through about 180 grams of butter in aweek and i distinctly noticed my very good cardiovascular health was not so good !
going back on cream my cardiovascular health returned to it's “super” status, so i think some forms of saturated fat really strongly decrement cardiovascular health

my post written on the 7th patriarch blog on the 10th October 2011 is as follows below!
zen teachers not deregistered
you'd think it would be simple but like everything else shades of grey rule !
registration is not the same as approval, i just think there's something to them and they are not the usual toxic blight that zen teachers are !
george bowman i like and think sorta on target, he would be better known except for his health dragging him back, thyroid issues ?
i also think diane rizzetto is helped in a real way by her work with developmentally disordered children and tho i don't know her, it seems she is worthy of being registered
there diane, what you haven't asked for but deserve !
she's dead now of course but i always though joko beck was an interesting on and off track, she was wrong about not reading and doing sitting tho, she did get the fundamental insight but was on the wrong road and kept to it !
toni packer who i approve is not a zen teacher so doesn't come under this ruling, one of her "dharma heirs" is also ok i think !
pierre tesuten has some sort of real poetic streak and is not deregistered ! anyone interested in this approval/transmission question, if it's given by humans and not infinity the bar is pretty low so to speak, most people could jump over the level i set if they are at all real which unfortunately is not the case at all !
so that's bowman, rizzetto and tesuten not deregistered, the rest are and if they want to contend they have to engage in some dialogue with me !

the thing about cheeses is the degree of culturing of the cheese by biofilm/microbiome/bacteria
the enzymes released by the bacteria/microbiome break down the difficult to digest proteins in milk and also make vitamin K2/mk-7
mozzarella doesn't have any culturation, it's the original milk proteins which can be an advantage because there is a higher nuturitional value in some of the proteins in the undegraded form, but also there is a penalty in terms of rough A1 proteins being migrainy and damaging to the cardiovascular system

i think you can generalize from
this that vitamin D levels drop 40% as a consequence of surgery, especially pfo placement in the heart wall and similar where an immune reaction can be destructive, but more generally as well
in hospital you are out of the sun and the diet is
prison like so
supplementing well before and also after the operation is essential !
why preconditioning skin flaws/spots, pre-cancers and cancers with iodine before the application of
35% hydrogen
peroxide may be that it
wakes up stem cells harboring mutations which then exposes them to the immune action excited by the hp (and also the iodine!)

dave st. germain asks/writes
Have you ever researched DMT, specifically the theory that DMT produced in the pineal gland can explain near death experiences, alien abduction stories, and mystical encounters?
There's a basic documentary
here and here's a detailed
description of a high dose
experience
If you read/watch enough of the first hand accounts, there are intriguing questions – how much of this is produced in the body? why is it found throughout nature? what is actually going on during these experiences?
Although not discussed much in the documentary, it seems plausible to me that certain practices (meditation, yoga, diet, etc) could influence production of DMT, and if enough were produced, a mystical experience of some kind would surely result. People report their experiences as being "more real" than normal existence, quite different than a dream or hallucination from any other drug.
What do you make of that?
my reply
that's interesting , thanx and no doubt use of these hallucinogens is a coming social trend !
i have always thought the widespread 50's to 80's interest in zen was substantially inducted from LSD use and the perceptual disruption opening an interest in these matters since if you take that sort of thing “reality” is obviously not what it seems : o)
the amounts of DMT naturally in the brain are miniscule compared to what would be ingested taking/smoking it, however there is obviously a whole biochemistry receptor system relating to it and you are overloading/operating this system in a different space with ingestion/absorbtion
interestingly it obviously crosses the blood brain barrier
the trouble is that a true mystical experience has to be semantically co-hereing with infinity so to speak, that guy describing his high dose experience/s has the experience of perceptual distortion and the brain running in a different malfunctional space but the reality of himself he still doesn't question and this is the usual story, in short in terms of mystical understanding, they get a wall partly broken down and it doesn't go any further !
there is no need to do this sort of thing and a walk in bushland or by the sea is more intensely visionary than any hallucinogenic drug !
in my years of developing the biofilm/microbiome carbohydrate diet and the
compendium for supplements the golden rule with this sort of stuff is “ is there any permanent health damage ? ” and this substance looks risky imo, you are really messing with the brain running it way outside it's normal parameters and
perhaps risking hppd (hallucinogenic persisting perception disorder) ?
lol, one of the worst experiences i ever had was making my own kefir and the consequent biofilm/microbiome from the natural yeast and bacterial culture in it
blew my brain for a month : o (
personally i have never taken this sort of thing and don't even drink coffee and teetotal, if anyone does try something like dmt (which actually sounds abit safer than lsd), they should take tiny doses and establish the purity of what they are taking !
again i have no experience in this area but from what i read you are always at risk for potentially a very toxic adulteration !
what we call “ reality ” is an hallucinogen, just a particular and sensibly cohereing type, the mistake zen and all people make is to think this limited case is the true reality, but it's just one space amongst many, abillion trillon zillion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!......................
however we are not bound by it tho we are physically limited to being in it, what is the hunting of the snark ? ..........
hallucinogens are no answer in my observation and take the brain and body into physically unsafe and physically damaging places, as does alcohol of course .......... but we have an evolutionary history of tolerance to alcohol and these substances do not have that !
you ask if “certain practices (meditation, yoga, diet, etc) could influence production of DMT”, i doubt it as the brain will try to keep things within certain operating parameters and you can't single out one brain neurochemical and receptor system and anyway what's the point?
it's semantic identity that's important and that's the true visionary space, of course completely misunderstood in religion and zen, but well understood through the poetry and writings of great luminaries like janet frame, emily dickinson, osip mandelstam and john of the cross !
what is where ?

fred, you are doing three things wrong !
you are not feeding your brain
you are not testing what you write and think for inner coherency, energy and truth
and you are not looking around enough !
the truth betold you only seem to look in the wrong places !
why be unrecoverably schizophrenic like marke foote?
i think you are also unrecoverably schizophrenic/brain damaged, you willjust walk over this and ignore it : o ( )
actually i think it's four things and the most important is a lack of humility in being able to admit you are substantially wrong in what you think it's about : o( !
if you can't see where you are wrong you will never be right will you?
see the fundamental insight is humility, we are secondary to infinity and hence our lives are an intrinsic process of error, you can actually see that brad warner understands that, his issue is not one of not having that insight, but being spread too thin to be effective : o(
but all these zen and religious teachers and acolytes and the endless messageboard/blog/you tube wanking, so sure they are right and rigidily unable to look at any alternative...............

a close relative got one of those ops that correct the vision by lasering the cornea and now has a dry eye problem, which was not thinking straight as there is alot of stuff on the web about the problems with that op
if he had talked to me about it i would have warned him
hopefully it will improve over a year, but dry eyes would suck
oddly he said that he had read about the dry eye problem on the web but thought it wouldn't happen to him
but really if your relative (me) has been rambling about health for years, why wouldn't you discuss it?
in fact because he's on autistic spectrum it was likely as we have lower nerve densities and it's the loss of nerves in the cornea and reduced sensory feedback consequent on this that causes the dry eye problem !
anyway i make plenty of mistakes myself, it's just this one of his is unfortunate
