We sadly announce that our beautiful Switch passed away in the fall of 2007. Her
autopsy showed she died from Clostridiums Type D, of which she had been vaccinated for a month prior to her death,
and it has baffled our vet why she died. We have kept her page as reference, and as a tribute to the greatest Oberhasli
we have bred to date.
Switch has shown very well for us. She finished in 2006, and is continuing her winning
ways in 2007. Being shown in Champion Challenge 11 times, Switch has been 8x BOB! Judges are simply stunned
by her, and she has turned quite a few heads at the shows. We're so proud of this fine doe, who's daughter seems to
be following in her footsteps, and in our opinion has an even better udder than her mom!
Switch was named the BOB at the Ohio State Fair, and then not a month later, she was
the BOB at the Kentucky State Fair. Her daughter, Saturn was the GCH, and they easily teamed to win 1st Dam & Daughter!
Switch's greatest achievement came a month before her untimely death, at the
competitive Allen County Fair, with exhibitors from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan competing with numerous does which
have won BIS awards. In the 2007 Show, Switch was named GCH/BOB Oberhasli. There were 3 other does (of three breeds)
that had already won numerous BIS awards each, and our beautiful Switch was named the Best Senior Doe in Show! We were
so thrilled, as this was our first for the Senior doe division, and this happened after Switch's paternal 1/2 sister, Gabrielle,
had been named the Best Junior Doe In Show! Although Switch passed away, she had managed to accumulate 1890 pounds of
milk, which gave her a milk star, and her daughter earned one as well.
