It was established in 1953 as the Railway Technical
School with 60 students and 6 teachers and started training railway and locomotive
technicians and became a training and production center in 1990 and since 1991 it has been
extended to the Railway College.
The college has been training over 10000 professionals with
special secondary education and about 70 specialists with higher education at those fields
of the national economy such as transport, communication, road and oil etc.
Since of the having extended to the railway college
the cirriculim has been innovated three times and many documents like plans, hand books
and instructions have been olobrated and applied on the basics of it. As a result of the
curriculim innovation we have been renovating facilities, classrooms and laboratories and
as today we have renovated about 50 laboratories: for example laboratories for
communication, train, sygnal centralization, electronics and power supply.
Durning the situation
when the country is transferring to the market economy and as well as the education system
is being changed completely the Railway College has aimed to produce personalities with
higher education since 1993 and offers both diploma and bachelor training programme.
Railway college has two buildings with 2000 seats, a
sport hail, a cultural center, a cameen for students and teachers, 2reading room with 100
seats, dormitary with 210 beds and fully facilitated classrooms and laboratories.
As a result of ondoavoring to improve the
professionak skill of the teachers of the college about 48% of the teachers have
Master’s and Ph.D derees. Among the graduates of the college 7 persons were awarded by
the title Hero of Labour, 4 persons by the Honoured Transporter and there are many who
have scientific degrees and are famous for their sport and cultural acheivements.
