On August 20th, I flew to New Orleans for the weekend to see my college friend Kirk performing in Hair. I had always
wanted to see this beautiful city, and I feel so blessed that I had a chance to before the devestation brought on by Katrina
last week. One week I was bar hopping on Bourbon (and those who know me know I NEVER bar hop) and the next it is under water.
I loved it here so much, and Kirk made me feel so welcome, despite my desire to see all that is touristy - as it was my first
time. The Ritz Carlton gave me an awesome agents rate, and I just wish I got to stay much longer. I got to see him perform,
we strolled through art galleries, explored the French Quarter, drove around the Garden District, walked along Riverwalk,
went drinking on Bourbon, had a dixieland brunch, visited Mardi Gras World, and just had a fantastic time.
Since hurricane Katrina wiped many parts of Mississippi and Louisiana away, those people really need all of our help.
There are tons of people who need new homes and those in shelters that need food, water, clothing and baby supplies immediatly.
Please donate as much as you can to helping these people who have lost everything. They will need a lot of help over the next
few months, if not years so please keep them in your hearts and do whatever you can - it really will make a difference in
someones life. New Orleans will be back and better than ever, but only with a lot of help from us!
