Kinswoman to the Duchess of Rhododendrons, Dame Angharad holds the disputed freehold of Tyr-o-Yr Glas as a fief from the hand of the Countess Rosamund. Quiet and unassuming, the Lady of the Glass House holds herself aloof from affairs outside her tiny domain on the edge of the city of Roanoke, where she works as a curator for a local art museum. As a dame of the Order of the Evening Star, Angharad is conversant in the Arts of Glamour, particularly their martial uses. No mere carpet-knight, Dame Angharad polices the eastern end of the county for malign chimera and other perils of the Dreaming. Due to the controversial nature of her tenure, she generally gives the nockers of Tinker's Dam a wide berth unless specifically called upon to intervene in their affairs. With the recent demise of Lady Quave, Angharad has become the senior noble of her house in the County of Rowan-Oak. Although outranked by Lady Celeste, Summer Baroness of Baywood, Dame Angharad has been in possession of her demesne longer. Moreover, she was born in the county, which carries some weight with the more conservative kithain of the region. If she was disappointed to have been passed over in favor of Dame Lillian Airmidh of House Liam for the rulership of Winterlong Manor, she has given no outward indication. Indeed, she professes herself more than content with her current fief. While vocally supporting Rosamund's reformist policies, Angharad herself is more of a modernist leaning, and privately believes that with the onset of Winter, kithain society must adapt in order to survive. In the councils of the county, she plays a sort of Devil's Advocate, quietly raising the questions which others do not think to ask, a role she shares at times with Dar'Nall ap Gwydion, Winter Baron of Baywood. The irony of their tacit alliance is not lost upon either. Of all other noble households in the county, Angharad is most likely to be found at Baywood, although her visits are infrequent. Dame Angharad's sole sworn liegeman is her steady-handed squire, Tamlyn Mac Dougal. Her esquire maintains the structure of the Glass House, allowing Angharad to indulge her hobby of gardening within and around the freehold between forays into the city and surrounding countryside and time dedicated to her mortal profession. Young Tamlyn has proven a capable assistant, and many kithain of the county expect to hear of his elevation to the estate of knighthood soon. Tamlyn himself is in no particular hurry, however, and is content with his current role as the taciturn dame's shieldman. Seen in her mortal seeming, Angela Morris is an aloof woman in her late twenties. She wears black clothing as often as not and is attractive in a severe sort of way. In fae mien, she is tall and lithe like most of her kith, with wavy dark hair, piercing grey eyes and a low, resonant voice. She favors voile of rich black silk in practical styles, preferring trousers to skirts. Outside of her freehold, she is never without her noble blade, Meteor, which glitters with a cold light that streams behind it like a trail of stardust when it is weilded in earnest, nor the long black cloak which is patterned with her arms embroidered with silver thread and studded with seed pearls, which allows her to move herself and any companions from any one patch of shadow to another. |
