Explore Islam

And your Lord has decreed  that you worship none but Him.  And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them  attain old age in your life,  say not to them a word of disrespect,  nor shout at them  but address them in terms of honour. [The Qurán 11:23]

Is it a wonder for mankind  that We have sent our Inspiration  to a man from amongst themselves  (saying): "Warn mankind and  give good news to those who believe  that they shall have with their Lord  the reward of their good deeds"?  But the disbelievers say:  "This is indeed an evil sorcerer!" [The Qurán 3:64]

Few Quick Basics...

  • Allah means "The One and only God" in Arabic. It is the same God as worshipped by the Christians and the Jews and other believers.
  • Islam means "Surrender to the will of Allah (swt)", ie, to choose to live a life according to the path shown by Allah (swt) through his messenger Muhammad (pbuh). In simpler words, TO DO what God has commanded to do and TO REFRAIN FROM what he has commanded to refrain from.
  • Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the Last Messenger of Allah (swt) for mankind who was assigned the task to complete the message from the Almighty and establish a system based on it in his life.
  • The Holy Qur'an is the book revealed by Allah (swt) to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as the final message, a confirmation and a warning, for all humanity till the Last Day.
